Abstract: Processes are provided for producing a diesel fuel product having a sulfur content of 10 ppm by weight or less from feed sources that include up to 50% by weight of a biocomponent feedstock. The biocomponent feedstock is co-processed with a heavy oil feed in a severe hydrotreating stage. The product from the severe hydrotreatment stage is fractionated to separate out a diesel boiling range fraction, which is then separately hydrotreated.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a pressure-temperature swing adsorption process wherein gaseous components that have been adsorbed can be recovered from the adsorbent bed at elevated pressures. In particular, the present invention relates to a pressure-temperature swing adsorption process for the separation of C2+ hydrocarbons (hydrocarbons with at least 2 carbon atoms) from natural gas streams to obtain a high purity methane product stream. In more preferred embodiments of the present processes, the processes may be used to obtain multiple, high purity hydrocarbon product streams from natural gas stream feeds resulting in a chromatographic-like fractionation with recovery of high purity individual gaseous component streams.

Abstract: In a polycarbonate resin composition containing a polycarbonate resin and a polycarbosilane compound, the use of the polycarbosilane compound modifies the surface properties of the polycarbonate resin composition without adversely affecting the intrinsic characteristics of the polycarbonate resin, such as transparency, heat resistance, and mechanical properties, e.g., impact resistance. A polycarbonate resin composition containing 100 parts by mass of a polycarbonate resin, 0.001 to 1 part by mass of a metal salt compound, and 0.005 to 5 parts by mass of a polycarbosilane compound has significantly improved flame resistance and high transparency and causes markedly reduced outgassing and mold fouling, without losing impact resistance and heat resistance.
Abstract: A temperature swing adsorption process for the removal of a target species, such as an acid gas, from a gas mixture, such as a natural gas stream. Herein, a novel multi-step temperature swing/pressure swing adsorption is utilized to operate while maintaining very high purity levels of contaminant removal from a product stream. The present process is particularly effective and beneficial in removing contaminants such as CO2 and/or H2S from a natural gas at relatively high adsorption pressures (e.g., at least 500 psig) to create product streams of very high purity (i.e., very low contaminant levels).

The master pinion (2) has a small thickness, compared to the part (1) to be checked, and the spindle (32) is mounted on a first carriage (43) which is movable in order to move the master pinion (2) along the profile of the teeth of the part (1) to be checked. This method and device allows characterizing both the radial defects and the angular defects of the teeth, and these defects being differentiated.
Abstract: A gas detector (100) for remote gas detection in a target region (106) comprises a light source (102) for emitting a light beam (110) into the target region and a light sensor (112) for sensing light returning therefrom. The light beam is wavelength-modulated around an absorption wavelength of the gas. A controller (108) is operatively connected to the light sensor for detecting a presence of the gas on a path of the light beam based on returning light sensed by the light sensor. An indicator (124) that is operatively connected to the controller indicates the presence of the gas. A scanning device (104) is arranged with respect to the light source so as to scan the light beam through the target region, and with respect to the light sensor so that the light sensor receives the returning light via the scanning device. The indicator cooperates with the scanning device to indicate a position of the gas in the target region.

Abstract: An automatic data index establishment method includes the steps of comparing a data index existed in at least one table when a database inquires at least one query to obtain the data index correspondingly and directly uses the data index to search related data. If the query has no corresponding data index, a Where Condition field, a Sorting field and a Group By field of the query are recorded and integrated to automatically generate the newly established data index and fill the data index into the table correspondingly. Therefore, the database has intelligent functions with automatic analysis to automatically generate, update, and delete the data index, so as to achieve the effects of enhancing the accuracy and execution efficiency of the data management and reducing the manpower of data managers effectively.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method of evaluating stability of software code for a control system includes receiving a set of initial trajectories by a semidefinite programming solver module, and determining one or more candidate Lyapunov functions based on the set of initial trajectories. The method further includes performing a plurality of simulations using a model of the control system to create a set of discovered trajectories, and evaluating the set of discovered trajectories to determine one or more counterexample trajectories that violate one or more Lyapunov conditions. If one or more counterexample trajectories are discovered, then the method includes inputting the set of discovered trajectories including the one or more counterexample trajectories into the semidefinite programming solver module, and determining, by the semidefinite programming solver module, one or more additional candidate Lyapunov functions from the set of initial trajectories and the set of discovered trajectories.
