  • Patent number: 12153279
Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to a lens alignment system having opposing end effectors configured to control a position of a rigid lens body with respect to a plane. In an illustrative example, each of the opposing end effectors may engage a corresponding receptacle on respective opposite faces of the lens body. Each of the end effectors may, for example, frictionally contacts each of the corresponding receptacles within a respective portion of each of at least two contact regions. During the engagement, each of the contact regions may, for example, lie on opposite sides of an axis of rotation that extends between the end effectors. In response to at least a predetermined minimum net moment applied to the lens body, the lens body may, for example, be rotatable about the axis of rotation. Various embodiments may advantageously enable precise and/or rapid positioning of the lens body in the plane.

  • Patent number: 12155183
Abstract: An underarm gang operated vacuum break switch (underarm switch) has an electrically live portion under a mounting arm, which provides advantages over the standard vacuum break switch, which have the electrically live portion above the mounting arm. Because the non-electrified mounting arm is above the electrified portion, the underarm switch is safer for perching birds and other wildlife. The nature of the underarm switch also provides other benefits including a disconnect blade that when opened creates a visual gap to ensure electrical discontinuity along with a safety locking arm tied to deactivating the underarm switch. Adding to the safety measures is a visual indicator that shows an electrician when the switch is live and safe to open the disconnect blade. Other safety measures include a shock absorber assembly and inertia slowing mass protecting electrical contacts within the vacuum break switch from failing.

  • Patent number: 12153079
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems for determining a broken conductor condition in a multiple-phase electric power delivery system. It has been observed that broken conductors pose a safety concern when occurring in the presence of people or vulnerable environmental conditions. Broken conductor conditions disclosed herein may be used to detect and trip the phase with the broken conductor, thus reducing or even eliminating the safety risk. Broken conductors may be determined using detected phase series arcing differences in one phase without commensurate differences in other phases. In various embodiments the phase series arcing attributes may be phase current monitored for decrement and/or phase resistance monitored for increase.
