Abstract: A metal ion conductive composition containing an intimate mixture of particles of Fe(1-a)MaO(1-z)YzX and a metal ion salt is provided. In the formula M is a cation, Y is an anion selected from the group consisting of N, S and Se, X is at least one halide selected from the group consisting of F, Cl, Br and I, a is a number from 0 to 0.75 and z is a number from 0 to 0.75 The particle size of the Fe(1-a)MaO(1-z)YzX particles is 500 nm or less and the metal ion salt contains a metal ion selected from alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, Zinc ion and Aluminum ion. A solid-state metal ion battery containing the metal ion conductive composition is described and in one embodiment, a solid-state lithium-ion battery containing the metal ion conductive composition is disclosed.

Abstract: An interface for detachably connecting a vehicle test body to a sled base in a vehicle body assembly includes a sled first bracket connected to the sled base, a sled second bracket connected to the sled base opposite the sled first bracket, a body first bracket connected to the test body and structured to be detachably connectible to the sled first bracket, and a body second bracket connected to the test body and structured to be detachably connectible to the sled second bracket. In some arrangements, the interface also includes a brace connected to the sled base and a bearing member connected to the test body and structured to contact the brace when the test body is detachably connected to the sled base. The interface enables rapid removal of the test body from the sled base and also absorbs forward momentum of the test body during testing.

Abstract: System, methods, and other embodiments described herein relate to tuning an absorption system based on an exceptional point for a shunted mechanical resonator of the absorption system. In one embodiment, the absorption system includes a first mechanical resonator having a beam connected to a body that is subject to a flexural wave. The first mechanical resonator has a latent absorption. The absorption system includes a first electrical resonator that includes a piezoelectric device, bonded to the beam, that generates electricity in response to the flexural wave propagating through the body. The absorption system also includes a shunting circuit connected to the piezoelectric device and tuned based on a calculated exceptional point for the absorption system. The shunting circuit alters an absorption of the first mechanical resonator and controls a voltage and current shunted to the piezoelectric device to absorb the flexural wave.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method of flying on the moon and a device for flying using the method. A medium on a surface of a moon and a medium accelerating module are used in the flying method. The medium is transferred into the medium accelerating module, accelerated by the medium accelerating module, and ejected out of the medium accelerating module by using a power supply. A counterforce is generated in accordance with the momentum conservation, and the counterforce overcomes the lunar gravity and drives a load to take off. The method is suitable for the environment of the moon where flight by means of atmospheric buoyancy is impossible due to the shortage of atmosphere.

Abstract: An online voltage control method for coordinating multi-type reactive power resources is provided. First, a linearized power flow equation of branch reactive power is established, and an online voltage control model of multi-type reactive power resources including an objective function and constraint conditions is constructed. Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to an array of individually readable distance sensors disposed along a first axis on a platform and configurable to detect penetration of a first plane containing the first axis, and an array of individually controllable light emitting indicators disposed on the platform along at least a second axis and configurable to emit visual indicia to a user out of the first plane. The visual indicia may, for example, be associated with the detected penetration. A reconfigurable predetermined detection window may, for example, be generated by associating adjacent sensors detecting input during a teaching operation. The detection window may, for example, be further generated by determining at least one distance threshold profile as a function of input received from the adjacent sensors during the teaching operation. Various embodiments may advantageously enable efficient configuration of generic sensing and indication units.
Abstract: Evaporator assemblies, vapor chamber assemblies, and methods for fabricating a vapor chamber are disclosed. In one embodiment, an evaporator assembly for a vapor chamber includes an evaporator surface, an array of posts extending from the evaporator surface, and an array of vapor vents within the evaporator surface. Each vapor vent of the array of vapor vents is configured as a depression within the evaporator surface. The evaporator assembly further includes a porous layer disposed on the evaporator surface, the array of posts, and the array of vapor vents.
