Abstract: [Problem] To provide a bacterial cellulose which is highly dispersible in a liquid, shows excellent molding properties and high miscibility with other materials when applied to materials, and, therefore, has a high applicability as a practical material, and a bacterium which produces the bacterial cellulose. [Solution] A bacterial cellulose, water that contains said bacterial cellulose at a final concentration of 0.1±0.006 (w/w) showing a light transmittance at a wavelength of 500 nm of 35% or greater, and a bacterium producing the bacterial cellulose. According to the present invention, the bacterial cellulose that is uniformly dispersible in a liquid such as water can be obtained. The bacterial cellulose shows excellent molding properties and high miscibility with other materials and, therefore, can contribute to the improvement in the qualities of a final product or production efficiency thereof or to the reduction of production cost.

  • Patent number: 9225181
Abstract: A power storage system is provided with a battery and a battery charger which charges a battery pack having a battery voltage and current detection circuit. A charge circuit is structured such as to acquire terminal voltage information of the battery from a battery voltage detection circuit of the battery pack in a charging process, carry out a constant current charge control in a state in which the terminal voltage of the battery is equal to or lower than a previously determined reference voltage value of the battery, and switch to a constant voltage charge control maintaining the output voltage of the charge circuit in the case that the terminal voltage of the battery goes beyond the reference voltage value, thereby carrying on the charge until the battery is fully charged. Therefore, the power storage system can accurately charge the battery to a prescribed amount safely.

  • Patent number: 9221725
Abstract: Methods are provided for processing glycerides to form lubricant boiling range molecules in a single reactor and/or a single reaction zone. The glycerides are exposed to catalysts that are stable under the conditions present in the reaction zones during conversion of glycerides to fatty ketones via a coupling reaction in the presence of a first catalyst, and the subsequent deoxygenation and isomerization of the ketones in the presence of a second dewaxing catalyst. The glyceride-containing feedstock can further include free fatty acids or fatty acid derivatives that can also be used for formation of ketones and subsequent deoxygenation and isomerization. In some configuration, the processing can occur in a single reaction zone containing mixed beds of the first and second catalyst. Such configurations can be used to control the ratio of diesel boiling range molecules versus lubricant boiling range molecules generated by the methods.

Abstract: A Flexicoking™ unit which retains the capability of converting heavy oil feeds to lower boiling liquid hydrocarbon products while making a fuel gas from rejected coke to provide only a minimal coke yield. The heater section of the conventional three section unit (reactor, heater, gasifier) is eliminated and the cold coke from the reactor is passed directly to the gasifier which is modified by the installation of separators to remove coke particles from the product gas which is taken out of the gasifier for ultization. Hot coke from the gasifier is passed directly to the coking zone of the reactor to supply heat to support the endothermic cracking reactions and supply seed nuclei for the formation of coke in the reactor. Coke is withdrawn from the gasifier to remove excess coke and to purge the system of metals and ash.

Abstract: Lane feature data is processed to compute a feed-forward lane curvature of a left lane boundary and a right lane boundary. A look-ahead lane width and a near lane width are computed based on left and right lane boundaries. A lane width increase is computed to detect a lane split or lane merge based on differences between increasing lane widths. A side of the vehicle on which the lane split or merge occurred is identified or determined. The lane boundary on the side on which the lane split or merged occurred is ignored, and a single-sided lane centering calculation is performed based on the non-ignored lane boundary.

Abstract: Provided are scissors with excellent safety that can more reliably prevent finger pinch when being closed. In the present invention, finger pinch prevention guards 20a, 20b for preventing fingertips from entering the opposing inner surfaces 10a, 10b side from above or below are formed on left and right operation portions 7a, 7b. This can prevent user's fingertips from reaching the opposing inner surfaces (10a, 10b) by setting the user's fingertips inserted into finger placing holes (6a, 6b) along upper and lower surfaces of the finger pinch prevention guards 20a, 20b. Consequently, when the operation portions 7a, 7b are in the closed position, the fingertips are prevented from being pinched between the opposing inner surfaces 10a, 10b so as not to cause finger pinch.

Abstract: A wireline retrievable injection valve for an oil or gas well has an internal valve that is initially moved to open a flapper safety valve and also opens to allow fluid flow through the valve. The internal valve includes a sleeve that opens the flapper safety valve and shields the flapper safety valve from fluid. In this manner the flapper valve is protected from being caused to “flutter” or “chatter” due to pressure variations in the fluid flow, thereby damaging the seat.
