  • Patent number: 9027287
Abstract: The present invention discloses a high-capacity drilling rig system that includes novel design features that alone and more particularly in combination facilitate a fast rig-up and rig-down with a single set of raising cylinders and maintains transportability features. In particular, a transport trailer is disclosed having a first support member and a drive member which align the lower mast portion with inclined rig floor ramps and translate the lower mast legs up the ramps and into alignment for connection. A pair of wing brackets is pivotally deployed from within the lower mast width for connection to the raising cylinder for raising the mast from a horizontal position into a vertical position. A cantilever is pivotally deployed from beneath the rig floor to a position above it for connection to the raising cylinder for raising the substructure from a collapsed position into the erect position.

  • Patent number: 9028725
Abstract: A process for densifying a composite material is provided. In some instances, the process can reduce stress in a sintered component such that improved densification and/or properties of the component is provided. The process includes providing a mixture of a first material particles and second material particles, pre-sintering the mixture at a first pressure and a first temperature in order to form a pre-sintered component, and then crushing, grinding, and sieving the pre-sintered component in order to form or obtain a generally uniform composite powder. The uniform composite powder is then sintered at a second pressure and a second temperature to form a sintered component, the second pressure being greater than the second pressure.

  • Publication number: 20150122701
Abstract: Methods are provided for dewaxing a distillate fuel boiling range feed to improve one or more cold flow properties of the distillate fuel feed, such as cloud point, where the distillate fuel feed is fractionated to produce both a jet fuel product and an arctic diesel fuel product. The decrease of cloud point is achieved by using a feedstock having a concentration of nitrogen of less than about 50 wppm and a concentration of sulfur of less than about 15 wppm. Further, the dewaxing catalyst may have a reduced content of hydrogenation metals, such as a content of Pt or Pd of from about 0.05 wt % to about 0.35 wt %. A distillate fuel feed can be dewaxed to achieve a desired cloud point differential using a reduced metals content dewaxing catalyst under the same or similar conditions to those required for a dewaxing catalyst with higher metals content.

  • Publication number: 20150122703
Abstract: A residual petroleum fraction feed is subjected to a deasphalting process by solvent extraction using a light paraffinic solvent with recovery of the solvent under supercritical process conditions. Fouling is reduced by the injection of an aromatic stream into the DAO-solvent stream from the extractor in order to provide a degree of solvency for residual asphaltenes in the DAO-solvent stream which otherwise would tend to precipitate in the heat exchanger used to create the supercritical conditions for the solvent. The aromatic solvent stream which, by its aromatic character, has solvency properties for the asphaltene components remaining in the DAO-solvent stream, is selected to have a boiling point above the boiling point of the solvent so that it does not contaminate the process solvent when the solvent is recovered in the solvent recovery section of the unit.
