  • Patent number: 9059184
Abstract: A method and system for decapsulating a portion of an encapsulated integrated circuit delivers etchant mixture in variable but precise, high-velocity micro-metered pulses to a single outlet port of a pump from any one of or a combination of separate inlet ports connected to separate etchant source containers holding specific etchant solutions, controls temperature of the etchant mixture by passing the etchant mixture from the outlet port through a serpentine passage in a temperature-controlled metal block, and delivers the etchant mixture from the serpentine passage of the temperature-controlled block via a delivery conduit to an encapsulation surface of the encapsulated integrated circuit.

  • Patent number: 9057558
Abstract: A process and an apparatus are disclosed for a compact processing assembly to recover C2 (or C3) and heavier hydrocarbon components from a hydrocarbon gas stream. The gas stream is cooled and divided into first and second streams. The first stream is further cooled, expanded to lower pressure, heated, and its liquid fraction is supplied as a first top feed to an absorbing means. The second stream is expanded to lower pressure and supplied as a bottom feed to the absorbing means. A distillation vapor stream from the absorbing means is combined with the vapor fraction of the first stream, then cooled by the expanded first stream to form a condensed stream that is supplied as a second top feed to the absorbing means. A distillation liquid stream from the bottom of the absorbing means is heated in a heat and mass transfer means to strip out its volatile components.

  • Patent number: 9058733
Abstract: A tamper indication device has a film attached and connected within the circuit that generates a signal in response to a tamper event. The tamper indication device can be incorporated into a bullet proof vest. The sensor circuit in the bullet proof vest does not only detect a bullet strike but also determines the location of the strike base in the sensor zone where the sensor zone has been struck. This circuitry includes a cell phone module with a built in GPS sensor for supplying GPS coordinates and communicating by dispatcher with the vest wearer's name and other identifying information.

  • Patent number: 9057254
Abstract: A method for detecting fluid ingress in a wellbore. An acoustic sensor is placed along a wellbore. The acoustic sensor is adapted to sense individual acoustic signals from a plurality of corresponding locations along the wellbore. The individual acoustic signals are analyzed to determine if there exists a common acoustic component in acoustic signals generated from proximate locations in the wellbore. If so, the acoustic signal having the common acoustic component which appears earliest in phase, by virtue of such acoustic signal's corresponding location in the wellbore, determines the location in the wellbore of likely fluid ingress. The acoustic sensor may be a fiber optic cable extending substantially the length of the wellbore, or alternatively a plurality of microphones situated at various locations along the wellbore.

  • Patent number: 9056406
Abstract: A method for the creation of a plurality of continuously folded layers. This approach for creating multilayered products begins with a typical flow channel for a product in which the cross-section of this flow channel is an annular ring. The flow channel is then morphed to create folds in the flow channel. Fold patterns are manufactured into the channel walls so as to gradually modify the contour of the stream. These folds are oriented and propagated in such a way so that the flow can be converged back to a flow passage with a typical cross section but now with a multiplied number of layers. This process may be repeated to multiply the number of layers. The number of folded layers can include 3-10 layers, ten to hundreds of layers and ten to thousands of layers. The layers remain continuous around the product.

  • Patent number: 9050746
Abstract: An IMD mold for producing a foil-decorated plastic part contains a half mold facing the foil and a half mold facing away from the foil. The two half molds can be placed on each other with corresponding mold dividing surfaces so as to form a cavity, which is substantially closed off from the outside, therebetween. At least the mold dividing surface of the half mold facing the foil is formed by an inner area surrounding the cavity and an outer area in turn surrounding the inner area. The mold dividing surface in the outer area lies in an at least substantially flat or one-dimensionally curved mold dividing plane, and the mold dividing surface in the inner area is or can be set back with respect to the mold dividing plane.

  • Publication number: 20150152343
Abstract: Methods are provided for improving the yield of distillate products from hydroprocessing of gas oil feedstocks, such as vacuum gas oils. It has been unexpectedly found that stripping of gases or fractionation to separate out a distillate fraction during initial hydrotreatment of a feed can provide a substantial increase in distillate yield at a desired amount of feedstock conversion. The improvement in yield of distillate products can allow a desired level of conversion to be performed on a feedstock for generating lubricating base oil products while reducing or minimizing the amount of naphtha (or lower) boiling range products. Alternatively, the improvement in yield of distillate products can correspond to an improved yield during a single pass through a reaction system, so that distillate yield is increased even though a lubricant boiling range product is not generated.

  • Patent number: 9044790
Abstract: An air cannon has a pressure vessel, a discharge valve, and a discharge tube assembly. The discharge tube assembly comprises a fluid passageway and a blast guard valve. The discharge valve is capable of opening and closing and allows pressurized gas to be discharged from the pressure vessel into the fluid passageway of the discharge tube assembly only when open. The blast guard valve is capable of opening and closing and obstructs the fluid passageway of the discharge tube assembly when closed. The blast guard valve allows gas to pass through the fluid passageway when open. The discharge valve and the blast guard valve are operatively connected to each other in a manner such that the discharge valve can open only when the blast guard valve is open.
