Abstract: Embodiments include eyewash valves in which the temperature of the water emerging from the valve is thermostatically controlled by a wax motor which regulates the flow of hot and cold water through the valve. Embodiments include provisions for continuing water flow through the valve despite failure of the hot water supply. Embodiments also include provisions for water flow through the valve despite failure of the wax motor in the upper position or in the lower position.
Abstract: A safety assembly is provided for placement on a roof of a building, near an edge of the roof, having a ladder restraint, an upstanding barrier, and a counterweight. The ladder restraint has an opening to receive a ladder that provides access to the roof. The opening is sized to restrict left and right sideways movement of the ladder. The upstanding barrier extends on left and right sides of the ladder restraint to block falls by a user. The counterweight is interconnected to both the ladder restraint and the upstanding barrier, and is disposed to prevent forward tipping of the upstanding barrier by the user, and to prevent sideways tipping of the ladder during use, when the safety assembly is placed on the roof and the ladder is received through the ladder restraint. The safety assembly may be assembled on the roof without penetrating the roof's waterproofing membrane.

Abstract: With the invention, a device for fluid feed for explosive forming, which has a valve and an activating mechanism to activate the valve, is to be improved, so that the device permits both good filling of a die with fluid and good sealing during the explosive forming process in a technically simple design. This task is solved by a device for fluid feed for explosive forming that has a valve and an activating mechanism to activate the valve, in which the activating mechanism is arranged separate from the valve in an inactivated valve state.
Abstract: A sub tank configured to supply ink supplied from a main tank to a print head while suppressing a pressure fluctuation is formed with an ink storage chamber in which the ink is stored, and includes a filter configured to allow passage of the ink while suppressing passage of the fine particles when the fine particles of the ink are precipitated, an ink introducing portion configured to introduce the ink supplied from the outside into the ink storage chamber, and an ink discharging portion configured to discharge the ink in the ink storage chamber to the outside. The filter divides the ink storage chamber into an introducing-side storage chamber communicating with the ink introducing portion, and a discharging-side storage chamber communicating with the ink discharging portion, and the discharging-side storage chamber is arranged on an upper side of the introducing-side storage chamber in the perpendicular direction.
Abstract: Fault location on a non-homogeneous electric power line that includes a plurality of sections by determining a section in which negative-sequence voltage magnitude profiles calculated from each terminal of the power line intersect. The fault location may determine the faulted section and determine the location of the fault within the faulted section. To determine the fault location, the negative-sequence voltage magnitude profiles may be calculated from measurements taken at each terminal of the power line and compared to determine a point where the profiles intersect. The profiles may be calculated using power line properties and measurements from each terminal.

Abstract: A method and a system for changing the segments of an SOC indicator of a vehicle at non-linear rates or for changing the number of the segments in an on state more slowly when the SOC is high or low as opposed to when the SOC is in the middle range. The system can be implemented with a vehicle including a battery, a sensor, a processor, a controller and a display. The method may include determining a display SOC based on the SOC of the vehicle, providing, by a display, three sets of lights including a low-SOC set, a middle-SOC set, and a high-SOC set, each light is illuminated or de-illuminated based on whether the display SOC has changed by an amount greater than the light's assigned power increment or decrement, where the middle-SOC power increments and decrements are less than the low-SOC or high-SOC power increments and decrements.

Abstract: The invention provides a preparation method of super-macroporous polymeric microspheres and a product thereof. The method is characterized in that adding high content of surfactant into an oil phase containing a monomer and dispersing the oil phase containing the monomer and the surfactant into an aqueous phase. Super-macroporous microspheres are obtained by means of suspension polymerization. In the interior of the microspheres, 10-60% of the pores are distributed in a range of 500-900 nm. The microspheres have a particle diameter of 1-200 ?m and a porosity of 30%-90%. The product is suitable for being used as a stationary phase matrix in liquid chromatography, a carrier for high performance catalysts and a high performance adsorbent, and especially, being used as a separation medium for separating biomacromolecules.

Abstract: A system for an electric vehicle for authorizing the utilization of a reserve charge portion of a battery of the electric vehicle for powering the electric vehicle. The authorization system may include a remote device that communicates with the electric vehicle via a telematic link. Upon receipt of one or more data from the electric vehicle (e.g., reserve charge amount of the battery, recharge locations, warranty waiver information, billing information, previous authorization information, etc.) the remote device transmits an authorization signal to the electric vehicle for using at least part of the reserve charge portion of the battery based upon the data. The authorization system may incorporate live personnel for determining whether to authorize the electric vehicle or such authorization may be determined automatically by a processor of the remote device. The authorization system may be entirely local to the electric vehicle such that no remote device is needed.

Abstract: A system and a method are configured to improve the performance of general-purpose processors by implementing a functional unit that computes the product of a matrix operand with a vector operand, producing a vector result. The functional unit fully utilizes the entire resources of a 128 b by 128 b multiplier regardless of the operand size, as the number of elements of the matrix and vector operands increase as operand size is reduced. The unit performs both fixed-point and floating-point multiplications and additions with the highest-possible intermediate accuracy with modest resources.
