  • Patent number: 9774388
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems for detecting a location of a fault on an electric power transmission line using a state-of-polarization traveling wave in an optical ground wire. Various embodiments may also detect a traveling wave on a conductor of the transmission system. The arrival times of the state-of-polarization traveling wave and the electrical traveling wave may be compared. Using the difference in times and the known propagation velocities of the traveling waves, a distance to the fault may be calculated. Arrival time of the state-of-polarization traveling wave may be calculated using electrical signals from photodetectors in an optical channel with polarizing filters at different orientations or reference frames.

  • Publication number: 20170268092
Abstract: A method and a device for coating a metal strip with a coating material that is still liquid at first. During the coating, the coated metal strip runs through a roller pair. One of the rollers of the roller pair can be adjusted toward the other as a correction roller in order to eliminate a possible curvature of the metal strip. Then the metal strip runs through a blow-off apparatus for blowing off surplus coating. In order to prevent an uneven thickness distribution of the coating on the metal strip even when the correction roller of the roller pair has been adjusted, the actual position of the metal strip is controlled to a specified setpoint center position in the slot of the blow-off apparatus by an appropriate movement of the blow-off apparatus.

Abstract: A small, heavy duty, transportable building having pre-manufactured panel assemblies made out of magnesium oxide for the floor, wall and roof that are quickly fastened together, on site, using common metal screws. All building materials are inorganic for extreme mold and mildew resistance. Furthermore, the building panels are configured and fastened together for inherent insulative fire and flood resistant properties. Commercial metal strut forms an economic protective perimeter around the magnesium oxide surface panels, and offer a fastening means to adjoining panels. The uses of the building (bunker, enclosure, shelter, shed, little-house, etc. . . . ) are myriad and not intended to be limited in usefulness. In addition, the building configurations and square footage options are limitless, single wide building ways, storied if desired. The design also allows manufacturing of the panel assemblies with common, hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. No crane is needed for building erection.
