Abstract: Particular hydrocarbon composition constituted by saturated species, alkylbenzenes and polyaromatics, useful for dissolving asphaltenic residues present in oil wells. Such useful hydrocarbon blends for dissolving asphaltenic residues present in oil wells, are characterized in that said blends are essentially constituted by a composition selected from those which, on a ternary chart, in which the vertex (A) represents 100% of polyaromatics with z<-6, the vertex (B) represents 100% of saturated species, and the vertex (C) represents 100% of alkylbenzenes with z=-6, are comprised between:the vertex (A), i.e., 100% of polyaromatics with z<-6;the point, along the side AB, corresponding to 77% of polyaromatics with z<-6 and 23% of saturated species;the point, along the side AC, corresponding to 45% of alkylbenzenes and 55% of polyaromatics with z<-6;with the further constraint that the initial boiling point of the above said hydrocarbon blend is higher than 150.degree. C.
Abstract: A combustion system with low pollutant emission, of the pre-mixing type for gas turbines, in which the combustion air passes from the interspace to the pre-mixing chamber via apertures in this latter, their degree of opening being varied, in accordance with the fuel quantity used, by corresponding apertures in a rotatable drum, and in which a series of small holes fed with additional fuel is provided in the interspace. Further flame stabilization expedients and differential cooling of the combustion chamber are also provided.

Abstract: An ELISA method with competitive inhibition is described for determining antisporozoite antibodies of P. Falciparum in human blood samples and in mosquito extract, which uses a single plate pretreated with only the synthetic antigen (NANP).sub.20 using, as total competitive inhibitor for the formation of the complex between the synthetic antigen adsorbed on the plate and the antibody contained in the sample, the (NANP).sub.20 synthetic peptide in a weight ratio of at least 20:1 with respect to the adsorbed antigen. Because of its high specificity, sensitivity and speed, the method is particularly suitable for epidemiological studies on malaria.

Abstract: A process is described for deasphalting and demetalating crude petroleum, or a fraction thereof, containing asphaltenes and metals, in which:said crude petroleum or its fraction is brought in to contact with an organic carbonate, the operation being conducted in the homogeneous liquid phase, until a solid residue rich in asphaltenes and asphaltenic metals precipitates; and said solid residue is separated from the homogeneous liquid phase. After separating, the solid, the homogeneous liquid phase can be cooled to separate an oil-rich refined liquid phase from the extracted liquid phase rich in organic carbonate. The separation of the extracted and refined liquid phases can also be achieved by adding a liquid solvent which is more polar than the carbonate, with or without cooling.
Abstract: A solid-state sensor device for determining the concentration of gases which can react with hydrogen, in particular oxygen, is disclosed, which is essentially composed of a solid-state protonic conductor put into contact, at one of its sides, with a reference electrode and, at its other side, with a composite electrode (sensor electrode), constituted by a catalytic material into contact with a hydride of a metal or of a metal alloy.
