  • Patent number: 9397515
Abstract: A load management system provides an interface between a power input and several switched power outputs and un-switched power outputs. A controller groups the switched power outputs into one or more load groups based on a switched current limit determined for the system and the measured currents of the electrical loads. The load groups are defined so that the sum of electrical load currents in each load group does not exceed the switched current limit. The controller also activates one or more switches to apply electrical power to the load groups according to a power sequence. A method for distributing electrical power to electrical loads using load groups is also provided.

  • Patent number: 9222616
Abstract: Embodiments provide a counterbalancing lift mechanism for raising and lowering an electronic display. The lift mechanism includes a moving bracket in sliding engagement with a support bracket. As the moving bracket moves relative to the support bracket, a spring assembly deflects to provide a force to offset the weight of the load. A transition assembly manages the deflection of the spring assembly relative to movement of the moving bracket such that the necessary range of deflection is shorter than the moving bracket's desired range of travel. The lift mechanism also includes a cam assembly to convert the variable force from the spring assembly to a substantially constant force. In some cases the spring assembly, transition assembly, and cam assembly are all mounted to the moving bracket and move with the display. Methods for positioning an electronic display are also provided.

  • Patent number: 9155235
Abstract: Embodiments provide a tilt mechanism for tilting an electronic display that includes at least two nested torsion springs to offset and/or balance the torque generated by a display acting on the tilt mechanism. In some cases a tilt mechanism includes first and second brackets pivotally coupled about a tilt axis. First and second springs are wound about a tilt axis such that the first spring is located at least partially within the second spring. The springs engage with the brackets to exert first and second torques between the first and the second brackets. In some cases such tilt mechanisms can be carried by stands, arms, carts, and the like. Methods of tilting electronic displays are also provided.

  • Patent number: 9139213
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide, among other things, computing carts with a storage compartment having a sliding work surface that selectively provides access to at least a portion of a storage space within the storage compartment. In some cases the storage space is defined at least in part by a storage chassis and a sliding work surface positioned over the storage chassis, with the sliding work surface at least in part defining a top extent of the storage space. In some cases a latch mechanism releasably maintains a sliding work surface in a closed position and allows movement to an open position when released. Some embodiments include a lock mechanism to secure a sliding work surface in a closed position to prevent access to a storage space. Strengthening mechanisms may also be provided to strengthen the storage compartment in the open and/or closed positions.
