Abstract: The subject matter described herein includes a container having a substantially tubular body forming a first volume for receiving a first fluid. The body includes a first and a second end, and the first end includes a dispenser provided with an aperture making it possible to dispense the contents of the container. The second end includes a closure element having a flexible wall making it possible for the flexible wall to be displaced between a first and a second position relative to the dispenser in order to thus dispense the contents of the container. The container includes a capsule with an outer wall forming a second volume for containing a second fluid. The capsule is positioned between the dispenser and the flexible wall respectively. The capsule is suitable for releasing the second fluid into the first volume during or after a first displacement of the flexible wall from its first position towards its second position.

Abstract: Novel steroid esters useful for regulating skin atrophy, and skin maladies, as well as compositions containing the esters and methods for their use are described. A preferred steroid ester is DHEA salicylate. Such types of skin atrophy to be treated include the thinning and/or general degradation of the dermis often characterized by a decrease in collagen and/or elastin as well as decreased number, size and doubling potential of fibroblast cells. Such skin maladies include but are not limited to dry skin, dandruff, acne, keratoses, psoriasis, eczema, pruritis, age spots, lentigines, melasmas, wrinkles, warts, blemished skin, hyperpigmented skin, hyperkeratotic skin, inflammatory dermatoses, age-related skin changes and skin in need of cleansers.
Abstract: Novel sulfhydryl group-containing amides and disulfide group-containing bis-amides useful for treating or preventing an abnormal biological condition or a disease, and/or improving the texture or appearance of the skin, as well as compositions containing amides and bis-amides and methods for their use are described. Such types of abnormal biological conditions or diseases include skin atrophy, i.e., the thinning and/or general degradation of the dermis often characterized by a decrease in collagen and/or elastin as well as decreased number, size and doubling potential of fibroblast cells, and other maladies including, but are not limited to dry skin, severe dry skin, dandruff, acne, keratoses, psoriasis, eczema, skin flakiness, pruritus, age spots, lentigines, melasmas, wrinkles, warts, blemished skin, hyperpigmented skin, hyperkeratotic skin, inflammatory dermatoses, age-related skin changes and skin in need of cleansers.

Abstract: This invention relates to compositions useful in the phototherapeutic treatment of psoriasis and other proliferative skin diseases. The compositions of the present invention comprise dihydroxyacetone and a penetration attenuator, both in a cosmetically and/or pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Optionally, the compositions of the present invention may also contain an acidic component. The compositions of the present invention are useful in the exploitation during phototherapeutic treatment of the hyper-desquamation characteristics of the psoriatic or otherwise affected skin.
Abstract: A mascara applicator having one or more beads disposed on a central axle extending longitudinally from an elongated rod and handle is disclosed. A first preferred embodiment comprises a single cylindrical bead molded from plastic and having a series of longitudinally spaced grooves along the length of the bead. A second preferred embodiment comprises a plurality of about 5 to 7 beads disposed on a metal axle and retained by means of a flat-headed pin. The beads are capable of individually or collectively rotating about the axle to create optimal mascara application and lash separation. A mascara applicator package utilizing the aforementioned applicator(s) and a housing for storing the applicator and mascara supply is also disclosed.
Abstract: Novel tocopherol derivatives useful for regulating skin aging and other skin disorders, as well as compositions containing the derivatives and methods for their use are described. The tocopherol derivative is tocopherol-cysteamine. Such types of skin atrophy to be treated the thinning of the epidermis and/or general degradation of the dermis often characterized by hyperplasia and structural disorganization. Such skin maladies include but are not limited to dry skin, severe dry skin, terosis, dandruff, keratoses, psoriasis, eczema, pruritus, age spots, lentigines, melasmas, wrinkles, blemished skin, hyperpigmented skin, hyperkeratotic skin, inflammatory dermatoses and age-related skin changes.
