  • Patent number: 9317483
Abstract: A method for resampling time series data includes determining a first time series of data points; determining a variation of the data points within a selected sequence, wherein the variation is determined by determining linearly interpolated data points for the data points of the selected sequence and by determining a maximum absolute difference. If a determined variation is greater than a predetermined error value, subsequences are selected by repeatedly dividing the first time series into adjacent subsequences until the first time series comprises a set of subsequences, wherein a determined variation for each of the subsequences is smaller than the predetermined error value. A resampled time series is created by adding the data points of the first time series that correspond to a first or last data point of the selected subsequences to the resampled time series, wherein every data point is added only once to the resampled time series.

  • Publication number: 20140354473
Abstract: One embodiment of the invention provides a receiver for use in a navigation system comprising multiple transmitters. Each transmitter transmits a positioning signal comprising a pseudo-random noise (PRN) sequence corresponding to the respective transmitter. The receiver comprises a code module for supplying multiple PRN sequences corresponding to the respective multiple transmitters; and a correlator for correlating the PRN sequences supplied by the code module with an incoming signal. The multiple PRN sequences are based on a single Sidelnikov/Lempel/Cohn/Eastman (SLCE) generative sequence uSLCE, and each of said multiple PRN sequences, denoted ui satisfies the equation: ui=uSLCE?TiuSLCE, where ? indicates element by element binary XOR addition, and Ti indicates a cyclic shift of i chips.

  • Patent number: 8885477
Abstract: A mask packet is provided with bits in a ONE state for all predictable bit positions and with a ZERO state for all unpredictable ones. All predictable bit positions of the new data packet are brought into a ZERO state if an actual bit state matches the predicted bit state and into a ONE state if the actual bit state does not. A processed packet is generated by applying an AND operation between the new data packet and the mask packet to change all unpredictable bits to a ZERO state. A series of counters is provided by calculating the number of bits in the processed packet between the first bit and the first bit with a state ONE; and between the following bits with a state ONE and between the last bit with a state ONE and the last bit in the processed packet. The counters are stored or transmitted.

  • Patent number: 8839585
Abstract: Deployable support structures include a six-bar linkage structure as a lateral facet of a truncated pyramid. The six-bar linkage structure comprises six articulated struts, each coupled to two others by a revolute joint to form a closed loop. The six-bar linkage structure is convertible from a deployed state into a folded state and vice versa. In the deployed state of one embodiment, the six-bar linkage structure forms a trapezoid with two opposing first and second parallel sides formed by two struts arranged in series and coupled by a revolute joint at the center of the parallel sides. In the folded state, the two struts of each parallel side are pivoted around the joint so that opposing end portions of the struts are located side by side. Scalable and modular deployable structures can be made for space applications as well as civil constructions such as domes, roofs, housing, tents, and bridges.

  • Patent number: 8746903
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for assembling two or more mirror plate stacks into a rigid unit in turn comprising a plurality of mirror plates and a base plate onto which the plurality of mirror plates are stacked. To improve assembly accuracy of the mirror plates, a base plate is provided with a first mirror plate mounted thereto, a handling tool is provided with a second mirror plate and a spacer is provided to a first surface of the second mirror plate and positioned to align the second mirror plate with the first mirror plate. This alignment is based on a measured position and shape of the first mirror plate to compensate for a deviation from a pre-defined position and shape. The plates are then attached to each other with the spacer; the handling tool is removed and the position and shape of the second mirror plate is measured.
