The connector also functions as a base for the bottom tray, and has a side groove formed in the tail portion for attaching to a base rung of a bottom tray.

The copyholder contains a flat surface and a multi-action document holder which pivots between a horizontal position when in use, and a vertical position when not in use. The spring loaded mechanism also allows the document holder to expand and accept thick documents. The document holder also functions as a lineguide.

The bar would be disposed between the base member and a forward edge of a container received by the channelled sides.
