Abstract: An absorbent pad formed having an upper film layer of a heat resistant porous material: a lower film layer of a heat resistant, non-absorbent, non-porous material, the lower film being bonded to the upper film layer along at least two of their respective opposing peripheral edges and an intermediate absorbent layer of liquid absorbent material between the upper film layer and lower film layer having the absorbent material at least partially bonded to the inside surface of at least one of the upper film layer or lower film layer.
Abstract: The artificial firelogs of this invention provide a natural visual and audible sensation so that the artificial firelogs have both a soothing flickering flame and a crackling or popping sound normally observed only with natural wood logs. The crackling additive can be mustard seeds, sesame seeds and synthetic hollow spheres.

Abstract: The instant invention generally relates to absorbents containing effective odor absorbing amounts of activated carbon. The activated carbon-containing absorbents may also be formed in conjunction with a wide variety of adsorbent materials including bentonite, opaline silica and the like and are suitable for use as absorbents in a wide variety of absorbent application and are particularly well suited for use as animal litters. Such absorbent may also contain fluoropolymer dedusting agents and bactericides to form unique absorbent compositions with diverse properties and uses.

Abstract: The instant invention generally relates to absorbents formed from compacting bentonite-containing materials containing an effective amount of the bentonite particles of a size under 100 U.S. mesh.
Abstract: A closure device providing tactile confirmation of occlusion is disclosed. The closure device comprises first and second interlocking fastening strips arranged to be interlocked over a predetermined length, at least one of the fastening strips having a deformation in the closure device after occlusion of the closure device. This deformation allows a user to tactually confirm that the closure device has been occluded, even after the closure device has been occluded. The deformation may be an inward deformation or an outward deformation on the fastening strip. The deformation may be on one or both of the fastening strips. The fastening strip may include multiple deformations. The deformation may be facilitated by providing a flexure point in the fastening strip, such as, an area of reduced cross-section or a coextruded portion with a different modulus of elasticity. In one embodiment of the invention, the fastening strips include mateable male and female closure elements.
Abstract: The instant invention generally relates to absorbents formed from compacting bentonite-containing materials containing an effective amount of the bentonite particles of a size under 100 U.S. mesh. The absorbent is compacted under effective compacting pressures to form a bentonite material suitable for use as an absorbent and is characterized as having lower costs, increased absorbency over similarly sized and compositionally similar non-compacted bentonite-containing materials and/or improved clump strength when used as an absorbent.
Abstract: An aqueous polymer preservative and protectant composition containing a silicone emulsion, an aminofunctional silicone emulsion, a film forming thickening agent and a polyol.

Abstract: The present invention features a high-speed registration system for the manufacture of plastic bags. The system has a registration apparatus that senses the leading and trailing edge of each sinusoidally-shaped tie pattern from a continuous web. Each sinusoidally-shaped tie is associated with an individual bag entity and, therefore, represents a midway point for each bag to be cut from the continuous web. The leading and trailing edge of each sinusoidally-shaped tie, therefore, is used to determine the center line of each bag. A plurality of center line determinations are averaged upstream of the sizing apparatus.
Abstract: A multi-component polish composition and polishing process for a surface. The polish composition comprises a multi-component mixture which when applied to a surface, e.g., the painted surface of a vehicle, under effective drying conditions forms a substantially dry hydrophilic wax-containing film which may be substantially removed from the surface by water rinsing of the surface whereby a hydrophobic protective layer is provided to the surface.
