Abstract: A compound action shears having a pair of blades interconnected for reciprocation between open and closed positions, one of the blades having a serrated edge with the inner surface of the blade being beveled to provide a curved surface rearwardly of the serrated edge, and the other blade having a cutting edge positioned to engage the beveled surface rearwardly of the serrated edge.
Abstract: A pole-mounted pruning tool having a shank adapted to support a cutting implement in a disposition suitable for severing a branch or the like. The shank merges into a hook having a jaw. The hook has a slot through which a cutting blade pivots during a pruning operation, the cutting blade cooperating with the jaw to severe a limb to be trimmed. The cutting blade biasing member, which urges the blade into a normally open position outside the bight of the jaw, is substantially received in a recess of the shank so that the pruning tool is less susceptible to becoming caught in congested foliage areas during pruning operations.

Abstract: A sales tag for a garden implement having a handle connected to a tool by a gooseneck, the tag including a planar member having a fold line for defining a first and second section, the first section including an opening which is expandable for sliding the tag over the handle onto the gooseneck and the second section having an opening or slot defining a pair of tabs for engaging the tool to stabilize the tag on the top of the implement.
Abstract: The present invention is a combination tool that includes a pair of retractable jaws capable of being moved into an exposed operating position by inertial force using a single hand. The tool includes a single compact unit with, on one end of the handles, pivoted jaws sliding into and out of the handles and, at the distal end of the handles, a selected group of pivotally attached tools that perform various functions. Each of these pivotally attached tools is housed within one of the handles when not in use.

Abstract: An all purpose pair of scissors including a first blade assembly and a second blade assembly, the assemblies being pivotally connected for opening and closing movements, the first blade assembly including a handle having a first catch and a recess in the handle adjacent the first catch, the second blade assembly including a handle having a second catch and a recess in the handle adjacent the second catch, the first and second catches being so located that on closing the first and second blade assemblies the first catch will be seated in the recess in the second handle and the second catch will be seated in the recess in the first handle, the first and second catches interengaging each other on opening the blade assemblies.

Abstract: A collapsible display system includes an elongated plastic strip having a series of tabs which hold display items and a series of creases or perforations which can be fan-folded. In loaded and collapsed form, display items may be locked onto the strip and the assembly assumes a manageable shape. When the strip is extended, the items on it are layered, have a somewhat flat profile, and can be reached individually. This collapsible display system improves on previous designs because it can be preloaded, shipped in a compact shape, and readily set up on a store shelf.
Abstract: A rotary cutter having a handle, a cylindrical head formed on one end of the handle and having an internal cavity with a planar surface on each side, an actuating member is pivotally mounted in the cavity with a circular blade secured to one side of the actuating member in a parallel relation to one of the planar surfaces, a pivoting member is provided on the periphery of the head for moving the actuating member to an operative position with a portion of the blade projecting outwardly from the cylindrical head, the actuating member being biased to a storage position within the cylindrical member.
