Patent number: 7458918Abstract: A support for an exercise device includes a frame having a top, a bottom, and two lateral sides extending between the top and the bottom. The frame has a channel defined about an interior perimeter. The top, the bottom and the two lateral sides define an opening. The frame has a body support integrally formed with the frame. The body support is formed by a lower arcuate portion of each of the two lateral sides. A membrane is operatively connected to a carrier. The carrier is adapted to attach to the frame via the channel, and the membrane having a first side and a second side.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 2004Date of Patent: December 2, 2008Assignee: Fitness Quest Inc.Inventor: Michael R. Patent number: 7367926Abstract: A new and improved exercise treadmill may include a frame having a first end and a second end, wherein the second end is parallel to the first end. Two sidewalls interconnect the first and second end. The treadmill may further comprise a motor in order to drive a belt, which is trained over a front roller and a rear roller. A deck is positioned underneath the belt in order to support the user. The treadmill may also comprise a belt tensioning device, which provides a visual indicator so that the rear roller may be moved on each end in equal distance relative to the front roller. Another feature of the invention is a slot between the side rails and the frame so that an extended member can be inserted therein to lubricate the belt.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 2006Date of Patent: May 6, 2008Assignee: Fitness Quest Inc.Inventor: Michael R. Publication number: 20070111866Abstract: A variably configured exercise device is provided. The exercise device can include a vertical support member having a longitudinal axis, a sliding member configured to move along the vertical support member in a direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis, a pair of rails each having first and second end portions. The first end portion of each rail can be pivotally connected to the sliding member on the vertical support member. The exercise device can further include an actuation mechanism coupled to the sliding member where the actuation mechanism can be configured to selectively adjust the position of the sliding member relative to the vertical support member.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 11, 2007Publication date: May 17, 2007Applicant: Fitness Quest Inc.Inventors: John McVay, Jane Kmatz, Robert Schnabel, Deltev Smith

Patent number: 6582347Abstract: A device for exercising abdominal muscles comprising a platform having an upper surface and a lower surface adapted for omni-directional motion, a pair of generally longitudinal limb supporting areas positioned on said upper surface, a pair of lateral hand grips each of said pair extending from the upper surface of the platform and disposed in opposed relation laterally and outwardly from one of said limb supporting areas, and a front hand grip extending from the upper surface of the platform and disposed generally forward of the limb supporting areas. Methods for using this device are also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 2000Date of Patent: June 24, 2003Assignee: Fitness Quest Inc.Inventor: Detlev F. Smith

Patent number: 6464622Abstract: An exercise device includes a bag suspended by a swivel beneath a flat horizontal surface of a support structure adapted to be repeatedly struck by the user. A series of responsive zones are provided on the surface and provide signals to an electronic control system each time a zone is contacted by the bag after being struck by the user. A series of lights are mounted on the surface, each associated with a respective one of the zones, to indicate to a user which zone is to be contacted by the bag. The electronic control system provides a measurable feedback on a monitor of the number of times a selected zone is contacted by the bag within a selected time period. A number of different exercise programs are provided by the electronic control system to test the speed of striking the bag by the user.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2001Date of Patent: October 15, 2002Assignee: Fitness Quest Inc.Inventor: Michael Clark

Patent number: 6261209Abstract: A treadmill includes a tread structure attached to a support structure and is moveable between an exercise configuration and a storage configuration. The tread structure has a front that is selectively adjustable in the vertical direction by an inclination mechanism to selectively vary the inclination of the tread structure with respect to the floor. The inclination mechanism pivots about pivot hubs. The tread structure includes a pivot member from which the tread structure is lifted. The pivot hubs are disposed in the direction of the rear of the tread structure from the pivot member. The tread structure is securable to the support structure by a latch pin when the treadmill is in the storage configuration. In the first embodiment, the pivot member is disposed near the front of the tread structure and is slightly spaced rearward therefrom. A second embodiment is presented wherein the pivot member is disposed along the frontmost portion of the tread structure.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 1999Date of Patent: July 17, 2001Assignee: Fitness Quest, Inc.Inventor: Bruce F. Patent number: 6110079Abstract: A kick-boxing exercise device includes a weighted base unit which supports a target section. The target section having an appearance of a head, neck and torso of a human. The target section is vertically adjustable on the base unit and includes a plurality of target areas. A plurality of LEDs are mounted within the target areas which illuminate as the specific target areas are to be punched or kicked by a user. A foam pad is attached to the target section for cushioning the punch or kick of the user. An electronic control unit illuminates the LEDs in a preprogrammed punch or kick sequence. Various skill levels are provided to sequentially illuminate the LEDs at various speeds. The electronic control unit includes a scoring system which allows the user to evaluate his or her performance. A sensor detects contact with the target section and triggers illumination of the next LED in the sequence. A sensor adjustment dial allows the sensitivity of the sensor to be adjusted by the user.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 1998Date of Patent: August 29, 2000Assignee: Fitness Quest, Inc.Inventors: Adam A. Patent number: 5759139Abstract: Lunge poles used to assist a user in maintaining his or her balance while performing lunges include a base, a pair of resilient couplings mounted on the base and a pair of tubular poles extending from the resilient couplings. The base is generally planar and includes four outwardly extending feet having rubber pads on the bottom thereof to frictionally retain the base in position on a floor. A pair of holes is formed in the top of the base for receiving the resilient couplings. An annular groove is formed in the couplings for snap-fitting the couplings with the holes of the base. The couplings include an elongated tapered stem which extends downwardly into the base and a criss-crossed shaped top portion for receiving a bottom end of the tubular poles. A middle section of the couplings is tapered downwardly forming a thin neck which allows the couplings to pivot on the base in a 360.degree. range of motion.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 1996Date of Patent: June 2, 1998Assignee: Fitness Quest, Inc.Inventor: Donald R.
