Abstract: ‘FAES1307’ is a new and distinct zoysiagrass (Zoysia japonica Steud.) variety distinguished at least by its smooth leaf texture with occasional fine hairs on the upper surface, high turfgrass quality, good drought tolerance, improved winter turfgrass color retention, and low incidence of large patch disease caused by Rhizoctonia solani anastomosis group 2-2 LP. Compared to its parents and commercial checks, ‘FAES1307’ has a shorter canopy height and is a more prolific producer of stolons. It tends to have shorter leave lengths and moderate leaf widths. Its flag leaf height is similar to its female parent, ‘FAES 5309-12’ while its flag leaf width is similar to its male parent, ‘BA 123’. The seed head heights of ‘FAES1307’ are shorter and consistent with the height of its female parent, ‘TAES 5309-12’. ‘FAES1307’ and its parents have narrower raceme widths; and shorter raceme lengths compared to to ‘Meyer’ and ‘SS-500’.

Abstract: A new and distinct hybrid cultivar of finger lime plant named ‘UF SunLime’, characterized by precocious bearing trees containing intense red-colored, cylindrical-shaped fruits with a blunt protuberance on both ends and dark red ovoid to pyriform juice vesicles that detach easily from the locules. ‘UF SunLime’ produces annual crops of well-colored deep red fruit that do not require prolonged cold induction to express anthocyanin both internally and externally under Central Florida conditions. Both the rind and juice vesicles have enhanced anthocyanin accumulation. Additionally, the rind of ‘UP SunLime’ contains oil glands, and pleasantly fragrant oil can be released during cutting, especially with recently harvested fruit.

Abstract: ‘FL11-137’ is a new and distinct southern highbush blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) variety distinguished at least by a low chilling requirement, vigorous, upright growth habit, high early yield, good field disease resistance, and large fruit that are sweet and exhibit medium size, dry picking scars.

Abstract: A new and distinct sweet orange clone ‘OLL-20’ has been developed from an unstable sweet orange selection designated as ‘OLL’, using tissue culture techniques. Undeveloped ovules from fruit of selection ‘OLL’ were cultured in vitro to generate an embryogenic callus, from which multiple independent clones were regenerated via somatic embryogenesis. Regenerated plantlets (somaclones) were grafted to UFR rootstocks and grown in the field for evaluation.

The tree is medium size, moderately vigorous, and semi-spreading in growth habit. It bears showy, pink flowers, and leaves have reniform glands. Trees of ‘UFRuby’ are self-fertile and regularly bear heavy annual crops of early season fruit that are of medium size (approximately 118 g) for its ripening season. Fruit are clingstone, uniformly firm with non-melting white and smooth-textured flesh. Fruit are nearly round, and uniform with a substantially symmetrical shape, have an attractive 60%-70% red skin, ripen evenly, and are of high eating quality. The fruit of ‘UFRuby’ usually ripen in late April in Gainesville, Fla.

Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of Coleus (Coleus scutellarioides) plant named ‘UF18-51-6’, selected for having a combination of desirable traits that make it well-suited for good performance as an annual plant in the summer landscape. ‘UF18-51-6’ has large leaves that are predominantly deep purple, with contrasting pink centers, and well-defined yellow green leaf margins. ‘UF18-51-6’ maintains these colors in a broad range of environmental conditions, and it has received superior ratings in both sun and shade trials. It is upright and compact in habit, but it is highly branched and uniform in shape, and grows wider than it does tall. This allows the plant to have high utility for use in any part of the garden landscape.

Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of Coleus (Coleus scutellarioides) plant named ‘UF19-79-2’ is a new Coleus plant, selected for having a combination of desirable traits that make it well-suited for good performance as an annual plant in the summer landscape. ‘UF19-79-2’ has foliage that is consistently dark red in color across the plant in both sun and shade trial conditions. ‘UF19-79-2’ is exceptional because it has an extremely vigorous upright and spreading habit, which is not typical of most predominantly red leaf colored Coleus plants. It is upright and spreading in habit, but it is more highly branched and uniform in shape than most dark red Coleus plants that have been produced to date. Since red foliage is one of the most popular consumer choices for garden plants, ‘UF19-79-2’ should have high utility for use in any part of the garden landscape.

Due to its striking color combination and vigorous upright and spreading habit, this plant will likely be grown in landscapes as a specimen annual plant filling a large amount of space with color in a very short period of time.

Due to its superior vigor and lateral branching, ‘UF19-7-4’ does not have to be pinched during production. ‘UF19-7-4’ has not been observed to produce flowers in any trial conducted. ‘UF19-7-4’ has long season performance in the landscape until late Fall. ‘UF19-7-4’ maintains its unique leaf coloration in a broad range of environmental conditions, and it has received superior ratings in both our sun and shade trials. It has a compact and upright growth habit, but it is more highly branched and uniform in shape than most ruffled leaf type Coleus plants that have been produced to date, making the plant suitable for use in any part of the garden landscape.
