Abstract: A low distortion transconductance amplifier provides current to a grounded load using a virtual ground input stage, a pair of current mirrors, and a bias current source. The virtual ground input stage may include transistors arranged as a Darlington pair. The low distortion transconductance amplifier can function as a voltage-controlled AC current source that is operable at high frequencies.
Abstract: Disclosed is an imaging device employing a measurement zone directed at a target, where the imaging device can be used in conjunction with a misalignment analysis feature. The imaging device can capture first and second images at different times. The first and second images may be compared, such as by comparing a location of the measurement zone of the imaging device in the first image with a location of the measurement zone of the imaging device in the second image. Based on the comparison, a misalignment indication of the imaging device relative to the target can be provided.

Abstract: A calibrator has profiles for holding locators for items in a tree-like database of smart device that monitors a process. The calibrator is connected to the smart device and obtains tag and other identity information to find the profile for the smart device. When a profile is located, the calibrator displays a list of calibration setup items and favorite items and loads the items on the list into the calibrator as default inputs or settings.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for tuning crosstalk and return loss are provided. In the method and apparatus, a filter tunes return loss caused by a first external terminal and a second external terminal to compensate for a capacitive load induced by sizes of and a proximity between the first and second external terminals. The filter decouples the tuning of the return loss from tuning a magnitude and a phase of a crosstalk between a first transmission line network and a second transmission line network such that the return loss is tuned with minimal impact on the crosstalk.

Abstract: A technician uses a wireless apparatus and system to vary air or fuel in the burner to optimize efficiency and safety. A wireless remote sensor unit has a probe in a flue to draw a sample of combustion gas from the flue for gas sensors and a temperature sensor. The sensors generate analog signals of gas identity, concentration and temperature that are converted to digital signals by an A-to-D converter. A wireless transceiver sends digital signals to a hand held unit or central computer via wireless transmission. The hand held unit receives the digital signals and displays an analysis of the signals. The analysis may be performed by any one of the remote sensor unit, the hand held unit, or the central computer. The wireless unit also receives control signals for the hand held unit or the central computer.
Abstract: An assembly and method for installing a viewing window into a single hole in a panel of an enclosure from a single side. A viewing window assembly comprises actuators and attachment members configurable to allow the attachment members to pass through a hole in a panel from a front side. Upon actuation of the actuators, the attachment members may engage one or both of the back surface of the panel and the inner edge of the hole therein in order to secure the window assembly to the panel.

Abstract: Systems and methods for testing a valve using valve signatures are provided. An analytical device receives a first valve signature from a portable measurement device. The portable measurement device obtains the first valve signature by causing a plurality of control signals to be applied to the valve and receiving data representing actual positions of the valve corresponding to the applied control signals. The analytical device may generate an image including a graphical representation of the first valve signature and a second valve signature that was measured prior to or after the first valve signature.
Abstract: An infrared thermometer measures a temperature of an energy zone. The infrared thermometer comprises a beam splitter for splitting an incident light beam from an energy zone into an infrared light beam and a visible light beam; an infrared detector for detecting the infrared light beam and generating a signal indicative of a temperature of the energy zone according to the detected infrared light beam; and a sighting device having an optical module for generating a reflective reticle image and transmitting the visible light beam to generate a target image at a sight window, wherein the sighting device is configured to superimpose the reflective reticle image over the target image at the sight window to align the infrared detector with the energy zone. The infrared thermometer and an associated measurement method facilitate the alignment of the energy zone by the users, thereby improving the accuracy of the measurement.
Abstract: A test instrument provides suggested next operational step function to provide a user with assistance during testing. A display is provided to show the amount of a project that has been completed, for example as a percentage completed value. Individual test results may be saved to a “fix later” list, which may be later accessed to re-test items that may not have passed on initial testing.

Abstract: A method for detecting failures in electrical cable assemblies is provided. A cable test instrument obtains frequency domain data representing electrical characteristics of a cable link under test. A number of connectors in the cable link under test is determined based on the obtained frequency domain data. An estimated location of each of the connectors along the length of the cable link under test is determined by the cable test instrument. The connectors are ranked in accordance with their respective contribution to detected failures in the cable link under test.
Abstract: LC optical connectors and a duplex clip for forming duplex connector assemblies are provided herein. The LC optical connector includes a rigid latch member for positive locking with another component, such as an adaptor. The duplex clip is configured to hold two LC optical connectors to form a duplex connector assembly.
