Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed herein for dynamically scaling application performance analysis completeness based on available system resources. In one embodiment, the method comprises monitoring incoming network traffic and a rate at which the traffic is being analyzed and dynamically adjusting application performance analysis completeness, the analysis being performed on the observed network traffic.

Abstract: A test instrument comprises plural first optical signal sources at a first wavelength and a distributor coupled to the plural first optical signal sources to supply the signals produced to a multi-fiber test port. Additional second wavelength signal sources may be provided, and a second test instrument for use at a second end of the link under test may be provided, to effect testing of the optical link.

Abstract: A method is disclosed. The method includes identifying locations of one or more points of interest, identifying an area of interest on a map displayed on a display device, identifying points of interest within the area of interest, selecting a level of detail and clustering the points of interest within the level of detail based on the location of the points of interest relative proximity to other points of interest.

Abstract: A network round trip time measurement apparatus and method employ request/response timing to determine network round trip time. An initial network round trip value is determined, and subsequent network round trip values are determined for possible better measurement values. Response send time and subsequent next request receipt times are employed to determine network round trip values, as well as response and ack packet times.

Abstract: A data acquisition system for vibration analysis signals includes a logarithmic amplifier for compressing wide dynamic range signals. The logarithmic amplifier replaces attenuators, gain amplifiers, and gain switches used in a conventional system. Further, only a low bit-count analog to digital converter is needed in combination with the logarithmic amplifier. Consequently, the footprint of the system and system cost are reduced.
Abstract: A system, apparatus and method for testing optical fiber systems by providing a near-end and far-end harness that loops the set of fibers in the fiber system together. The near-end harness has an interface to connect to the tester. The tester then effects testing on the entire set of fibers, which are looped together by the configuration of the two harnesses creating a single optical path that traverses the entire set or subset of fibers in the network, so a launched test signal propagates through the entire set of looped fibers, providing measurement results for the fibers.

Abstract: A measurement system uses a plurality of transducers that may differ from each other in at least one respect, such as having different operating principles or being made by different manufacturers. Respective measurement values obtained from the transducers are applied to a processor which provides a measured value based on the measurement values from a plurality of the transducers. The processor also provides information about the calibration drift of each of the transducers based upon a comparison between the measurement value obtained from the transducer to a value obtained from a combination of respective measurement values obtained from a plurality of the transducers. The calibration drift information provides an objective evaluation about the calibration condition of each of the transducers. When a transducer is determined to be outside of its calibration tolerance, a calibration needed alert occurs.
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for controlling a drywell including a receiver having upper and lower ends with the lower end being more insulated than the upper end having a temperature sensor in thermal contact therewith. Upper and lower heating elements are in thermal contact with the upper and lower ends, respectively. A controller includes an integrated circuit having a temperature sensor. A reading from the integrated circuit is used to control power to the upper heating element and reduce a temperature gradient between the upper and lower ends of the receiver.
Abstract: A thermal imaging camera that intermittently captures thermal images of a scene for long term monitoring of the scene. The thermal images may be captured after each interval of a time delay interval and/or upon detection of a threshold change in thermal energy in the scene.
Abstract: In accordance with one embodiment of the present disclosure, an accessory mount includes a receiving interface portion on the accessory, and a mountable portion magnetically couplable to the receiving interface portion.

Abstract: A switch for selectively routing electrical signals, particularly microwave signals, in a printed circuit board includes a rotatable contact that is connected to a shaft. A first motor is configured to rotate the shaft and a second motor is configured to axially move the shaft to lift the contact from the printed circuit board. A position controller produces driving signals that are received by the first and second motors to lift the contact from the printed circuit board, rotate the contact to a desired position and lower the contact to the circuit board.
Abstract: A device provides location information to assist in identifying the location of RF sources. Antenna arrays coupled to corresponding receivers supply signals to a direction of arrival computation block, and the direction information is used to provide a display showing the location of the RF source.
