Abstract: In order to manufacture folding packets having a packet part (11), a lid (12) and a collar (13), a single-piece blank is used, in which a collar (13) is connected to a main blank (14) via connecting webs (15, 16). The collar (13) is connected to a connecting web (15) via an edge-side collar folding line, and the connecting webs (15, 16) are connected to the main blank (14) via transversely oriented web folding lines (41, 42), with the result that the collar (13) can be moved into the position with two folding steps which follow one another.

Abstract: To test the integrity of packages—cups (11)—a package conveyor (14) is provided, on whose conveying run (17) the cups (11) are positioned at a distance from one another, specifically in a correct formation forming transverse rows (23). In order to form a sealed testing chamber (13) for a group of cups (11) to be tested, a covering hood (19) can be lowered from above onto the package conveyor (14). Together with the covering hood (19), the latter forms a sealed testing chamber (13). A vacuum is produced in the latter, with the consequence that the packages experience deformation, specifically the cups (11) experience deformation of a closure film. Non-sealed cups (11) are identified and separated out.

Abstract: For the dispatch-ready packing of, in particular, cigarette packs or cigarette bundle packs (12), a device is provided, in which the box packer (14) and the palleting station (29) are combined, in order to introduce the bundle packs (12) into boxes (10) and to deposit the latter on pallets (11). Abstract: A distributor or hopper is part of a cigarette production machine and serves for dressing the tobacco in the provision of a continuous tobacco strand. An integral part of a distributor is a metering system which prepares the tobacco for the production of the tobacco strand. To separate out undesirable constituents, such as foreign bodies, stalks or ribs, from the tobacco, at least one sifter (15) is provided. The latter precedes the metering system of the distributor in the working direction, in particular is arranged outside the distributor, so that sifted tobacco is introduced into the distributor.

Abstract: A cigarette pack of the hinge-lid-box type comprises an outer pack (13) and an inner pack which can be displaced in the longitudinal direction within the outer pack (13). Abstract: Disclosed is a closing aid for cigarette packs of the hinged lid type, comprising vertical webs (31) of a collar (12) and an inner lid fold (25) located on the interior face of a front wall (19) of the lid. Said inner lid fold (25) is provided with lateral recesses (37) whose relative position is selected such that the threading process of the webs (31) into an interlocked position with the inner lid fold (25) is initiated when a maximum edge pressure is attained on top transversal edges (35) of the collar (12).
