  • Patent number: 7475525
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing packs (23) from at least two partial packs (25, 26) to form one groups of packs (21, 22) each of especially cuboid (cigarette) packs (20), a one-piece blank (24) being folded along (embossed) fold lines (46, 47) around the groups of packs (21, 22) in such a way that mutually facing inner walls (27) of the partial packs (25, 26) are folded in between the groups of packs (21, 22) in a V shape. According to the invention, the substantially flat blank (24) is conveyed along a blank path (36) and, during the transport, is at least partially upset in such a way that the inner walls (27) are folded in a V shape along fold lines (46) arranged transversely with respect to the transport direction. The invention also relates to a corresponding device for carrying out the method.

  • Publication number: 20080142029
Abstract: In order to treat cut tobacco so as to loosen and homogenize the same, a tobacco stream (12, 16) passes through a plurality of processing stations (18, 19, 20), in the region of which the tobacco is loosened, during transportation, with the aid of different processing arrangements. The tobacco stream or main stream here is divided up into a plurality of smaller sub-streams during treatment.

  • Publication number: 20080134636
Abstract: For the purpose of wrapping articles, in particular groups (19) of packs, in a blank (10), use is made of a folding turret (21) having a single pocket (23) passing through its diameter. Lateral boundaries of the pocket (23) comprise belts (30, 31) which, upon introduction of a group (19) of packs with blank (10), can be moved in the pushing-in direction and which butt in a friction-free manner against legs (27, 28) of the blank (10), which is folded in a U-shaped manner. A block-form stop component (37) can be moved within the pocket (23) from one end position to the other.

  • Patent number: 7367170
Abstract: (Liquid) flavoring agents and other substances are transferred to cigarettes immediately prior to or during the packaging operation of the cigarettes (12). An advantageous solution is that of the substances being transferred directly to free ends of the cigarettes (12) once cigarette groups (11) have been formed and during transportation of these groups. As an alternative, the substances can be transferred to the inside of an inner wrapper of the cigarette group in particular to a folding tab of a base wall.

  • Patent number: 7298111
Abstract: A method and a device for controlling a production unit in a production installation are specified, controlling referring to the controlling and monitoring of speeds of rotation or angles of rotation of individual drives (20-22) such that the movements of these are monitored in respect of a synchronous value (37) and/or a limit value (33). The monitoring in respect of the limit value (33) results in a safely limited speed of the individual drives. The monitoring in respect of the synchronous value (37) permits detection of asynchronies. The monitoring can be carried out in normal operating mode and/or in setup mode, and, in setup mode, it serves particularly to protect the operating personnel from drives (20-22) that start up suddenly or are running too fast.

  • Patent number: 7275438
Abstract: In order to check a material web (12), in particular a film web, with regard to the correct arrangement of a tear-off strip (11) extending in the longitudinal direction of the material web (12), ultrasonic transmitters are used, specifically an ultrasonic transmitter (11) on the one hand and an ultrasonic receiver (19) on the other hand. The sensors are arranged on opposite sides of the material web (12) in such a way that, if appropriate, focused ultrasonic waves are aimed specifically at the region of the tear-off strip (11). If a tear-off strip (11) is missing, an appropriate signal is generated by the ultrasonic receiver (19).

  • Publication number: 20070221517
Abstract: In order to manufacture folding packets having a packet part (11), a lid (12) and a collar (13), a single-piece blank is used, in which a collar (13) is connected to a main blank (14) via connecting webs (15, 16). The collar (13) is connected to a connecting web (15) via an edge-side collar folding line, and the connecting webs (15, 16) are connected to the main blank (14) via transversely oriented web folding lines (41, 42), with the result that the collar (13) can be moved into the position with two folding steps which follow one another.

  • Patent number: 7200978
Abstract: Process for producing packs made of thin cardboard with an outer wrapper made of shrink-wrap film. Folding tabs of the outer wrapper are connected to one another by full-surface-area heat sealing. The shrink-wrapping process for the outer wrapper may be initiated as a result. In order to ensure a correct form of the outer wrapper, the folding tabs, prior to the full-surface-area sealing operation, are connected to one another by a tack seal, with small, limited sealing surface areas, and are then sealed over the full surface area.

  • Patent number: 7185658
Abstract: During the production of cigarettes, but in particular in the region of a cigarette-packaging machine, a comparatively large amount of tobacco accumulates as waste. This is specifically removed by arranging suction-extraction elements and/or conveying-away elements for tobacco particles (19) in the region of elements and subassemblies of the machines with increased accumulation of tobacco. The air with tobacco particles (19) which has been extracted by suction is led through a tobacco separator (45), which has a separating element (48) for receiving the tobacco particles. From time to time, these are removed from the tobacco separator (45) and recycled into the production process.
