Abstract: A vehicle and a vehicle system are provided with a controller that is configured to generate output indicative of a static road gradient estimation based on a filtered longitudinal acceleration. The filtered longitudinal acceleration is dependent upon a derivative of a longitudinal acceleration. An initial value of the static road gradient estimation corresponds to at least one of a kinematic road gradient estimation and a dynamic road gradient estimation.

  • Publication number: 20140062184
Abstract: A vehicle having at least one electric machine capable of propelling the vehicle is provided. An oil circulation path is provided that circulates oil through the electric machines. A controller commands the electric machines to fulfill torque demands. The controller utilizes the oil temperature in the oil circulation path in order to control the commanded torque output by the electric machines. In the event of a failure or fault in the oil temperature sensors, the controller estimates the oil temperature from the temperature of coils within the electric machine. The estimated oil temperature is utilized instead of the sensed oil temperature to control the torque outputs to maintain torque demands.

  • Publication number: 20140067224
Abstract: A vehicle-hold control method is used to hold an engine-powered vehicle from rolling backward on a road gradient during an engine start. The engine shuts down when the vehicle is stopped following operation of the vehicle under engine power. • Publication number: 20140062158
Abstract: A vehicle seating assembly includes a track assembly having a rail and a base member slidably engaged with the rail and supporting a seatback. A bracket is coupled to the rail and supports a seat with an articulation feature. A linkage couples the seat with the seatback. A coupler is engaged with the articulation feature. Movement of the coupler relative to the articulation feature translates the seating assembly between a deployed position, wherein the seat is generally orthogonal to the seatback, and a stowed position, wherein the seatback abuts the seat and is generally parallel to the rail. A hinge in the linkage causes translation from the deployed position to an access position. The seat is generally orthogonal to the rail and the seatback is slid to a forward segment of the rail.

  • Publication number: 20140062128
Abstract: A vehicle having an extendable bed assembly includes a loading bed and a tailgate pivotally connected to, and positioned upright over the loading bed. A sliding member is retained within the tailgate. To extend the bed assembly, the tailgate is laid down, and the sliding member is extended out rearwards from the tailgate, by unlocking the locking mechanism. The tailgate and the sliding member append the loading bed, to form primary and secondary extensions, respectively, constituting a fully extended bed. A bed grille is slid to the rearmost portion of the extended bed, and fixedly positioned there. The bed grille includes a central member, and a left flap and a right flap pivotally connected to it. The flaps are rotated outwards, to an orientation perpendicular to the central member, forming a U-shaped structure, which acts as a support for the items loaded over the extended portion of the bed assembly.
