  • Patent number: 5722562
Abstract: A closure cap (1) of the present invention is provided for closing a tube (3). The cap has a skirt (15) which, when installed on the tube, extends from the end of the tube along the outside of the outside surface of the tube wall, an end closure (13) which extends across the end of the tube and closes off the end of the tube, and an inner flange (17) integral with the skirt and with the end closure. The inner flange is concentric with the skirt such that the end of the tube is received between the skirt and the inner flange. The cap further has a wall (19) integral with the inner end of the flange and integral with the end closure for connecting the inner end of the inner flange and the end closure. A flexible connection (23) is provided between the skirt and the inner flange which permits flexing of the inner flange relative to the skirt upon installation of the cap on the tube thereby to enable installation of the cap on the tube substantially without deformation of the tube.

  • Patent number: 5718557
Abstract: A plurality of tape cassettes fed in succession from a conveyor are oriented vertically on an end stretch of the conveyor itself terminating at a position in side by side relation with a tiltable collection element. The cassettes are pushed laterally from the end stretch of the feed conveyor for being loaded onto the collection element until they form thereon a row comprised of a given number of cassettes. The collection element is then tilted to let the cassette row fall onto a tray previously positioned under the collection element.

  • Patent number: 5716593
Abstract: A method is disclosed for preparing crystalline aluminosilicate Y-type faujasite from a reaction mixture containing an organic template capable of producing Y-type faujasite. The reaction mixture contains only sufficient water to produce Y-type faujasite. In one embodiment, the reaction mixture is self-supporting and may be shaped if desired. In the method, the reaction mixture is heated at crystallization conditions and in the absence of an added external liquid phase, so that excess liquid need not be removed from the crystallized product prior to drying the crystals.

  • Patent number: 5710717
Abstract: A new, improved method is disclosed for reliably and accurately predicting and adjusting vapor-liquid split ratios to branches of a piping network incorporating a plurality of impacting tee junctions for a wide range of two-phase steam or gas-liquid conditions representative of field distribution systems. The vapor velocity and liquid volume fraction of the two-phase entering an impacting tee junction are computed from measured pressure, quality and rate of a two-phase fluid entering the impacting tee junction. The velocities of the vapor split to each branch tee junction are computed from measured or computed vapor mass flow rates. The liquid volume fraction of the two-phase fluid exiting a branch or arm of the tee junction is then computed as a function of inlet vapor velocity and liquid volume fraction and from the vapor velocity exiting the branch or arm using an empirical correlation equation.

  • Patent number: 5702157
Abstract: An adjustable armrest mechanism includes a mounting bracket securely mounted relative to a vehicle seatback, an armrest rotatable relative to the mounting bracket, an armrest bracket securably attachable to the armrest, a pawl attachable with the armrest bracket, a coil spring for biasing the pawl, and a ratchet securably mounted onto the mounting bracket. The ratchet includes a camming surface having a plurality of serrated teeth for engagement with the pawl. A plurality of in-use positions are defined by engagement between the pawl and the serrated teeth. The armrest bracket includes a stop which prevents further rotation of the pawl member during disengagement. Cooperative engagement of the pawl with an armrest stop and a ratchet stop on the camming surface prevents further rotation of the pawl during relative rotation into the non-use position.
