    Abstract: In an even numbered polygonal microwave resonator wherein a high mode microwave mode is formed and in the resonator volume a homogeneous field distribution is established for the thermal processing of workpieces, a microwave in-coupling structure pair is provided along a joining edge of two wall segments alternately at opposite sides and the in-coupling structure pairs or in communication, via a rectangular microwave guide channel, with a microwave sources supplying microwaves to the in-coupling structure pairs so that the microwaves entering the resonator from each in-coupling structure are directed toward an opposite corner area of the resonator and are reflected from the opposite corner area back into the center area of the resonator in the form of separate beams.

    Abstract: In an ionizer of an exhaust gas ionization system for ionizing moisture-laden gases in a channel comprising a nozzle plate having circular nozzle openings through which the gases are conducted, a high voltage electrode support grid arranged downstream of the nozzle plate and having electrode pins extending toward the nozzle openings and carrying at their free ends star structures with a number of tips projecting radially toward the circumference of the nozzle openings and being electrically charged for ionizing the moisture laden gases flowing through the nozzle openings past the star structures, the nozzle openings are sufficiently large to cause the gas flow to be slow enough to permit water to flow down along the walls of the nozzle openings against the upward flow of the gases through the nozzle openings.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for separating out a substance dispersed or dissolved in a first liquid by using the following steps: a) adding magnetizable particles to the first liquid, so that the substance is adsorbed on the particles; b) immersing a rod consisting of a soft magnetic material into the first liquid; c) magnetizing the rod along its longitudinal axis with an exciter coil, thus causing the particles with the adsorbed substance to be deposited on the rod; d) pulling the rod with thereon deposited particles from the first liquid while the rod is still magnetized; e) immersing the rod into a second liquid; f) turning off the exciter coil and washing off the particles deposited on the rod in the second liquid. Also proposed is a magnet separator for realizing the method.
