  • Patent number: 7620202
Abstract: A system for estimating orientation of a target based on real-time video data uses depth data included in the video to determine the estimated orientation. The system includes a time-of-flight camera capable of depth sensing within a depth window. The camera outputs hybrid image data (color and depth). Segmentation is performed to determine the location of the target within the image. Tracking is used to follow the target location from frame to frame. During a training mode, a target-specific training image set is collected with a corresponding orientation associated with each frame. During an estimation mode, a classifier compares new images with the stored training set to determine an estimated orientation. A motion estimation approach uses an accumulated rotation/translation parameter calculation based on optical flow and depth constrains. The parameters are reset to a reference value each time the image corresponds to a dominant orientation.

  • Patent number: 7618233
Abstract: Conical diffusers with or without conical center bodies can improve air moving performance by up to 21% at no increase in power. Embodiments coupled with electronically commutated motors (ECMs) showed additional reductions to condenser fan power of approximately 25%. A strip member, such as open cell foam can be applied as a liner to the interior walls of a condenser housing adjacent to the wall surface where the rotating blades sweep against. The porous edge can also be used with the trailing edge and/or tip edge of the blades. These members can both improve air flow by reducing dead air spacing between the rotating blade tips and the interior walls of the condenser housing, as well as lower undesirable noise sound emissions.

  • Publication number: 20090281456
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for collecting amniotic fluid from the uterus. In order to collect the amniotic fluid from the uterus through the external orifice of the cervix of a pregnant woman, an amniotic fluid collecting unit is adapted to bring a mouth, which is foldably formed at the upper end of an amniotic fluid collecting bag, into close contact with an end of the external orifice of the cervix. Thereby, the apparatus not only significantly decreases the risk occurring when a needle is directly inserted into the uterus in order to carry out the amniocentesis (amniotic fluid testing), but also eliminates pain and anxiety caused by the direct insertion of the needle.

  • Publication number: 20090281214
Abstract: Disclosed are plasticizer compositions including cyclodextrin derivatives, a flexible PVC composition with suppression of the migration of a plasticizer containing the same, and a manufacturing method thereof. The manufacturing method of the flexible PVC composition of the present invention includes steps of (S1) preparing cyclodextrin derivatives; (S2) mixing the cyclodextrin derivatives, PVC and a low molecular weight liquid plasticizer to form a plastisol; and (S3) heating the plastisol to form a solution and cooling the solution. The manufacturing method of the present invention may be useful to mass-produce flexible PVC with suppression of the migration of a plasticizer in a simple and economic manner without using solvents since the cyclodextrin derivatives are used as a compound that can suppress the migration of a plasticizer The flexible PVC has an effect of reducing an amount of the migrated plasticizer without deterioration in its physical properties.
