Abstract: An electrical connector assembly includes an insulative housing, a first cover pivotally assembled to the housing, a second cover pivotally assembled to the first cover, and a fan support secured upon the second cover. A plurality of contacts are disposed in the housing. A heat sink is associated with the second cover. A pair of fans are located by two opposite lateral sides of the heat sink and fixed to the fan support so as to induce an air flow along the slots defined between fins of the heat sink in a transverse direction.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing with a plurality of contacts retained therein in matrix wherein all the contacts are of the cantilevered spring arm type for connecting to the conductive pads of the CPU while categorized with at least two different types for performing different functions, i.e., signal transmission or power delivery. The different type may be related to the corresponding dimension/thickness, the configuration/position, the material, and the processing method which alters the mechanical or electrical characters of the contacts, etc. The different type contacts having the contact points initially at different heights while eventually at the same height, is another feature of the invention.

Abstract: An electrical card connector includes an insulative housing, a plurality of contacts retained to the housing, a metallic shield attached to the housing and cooperating with the housing to form a receiving cavity for receiving therein an electrical card, and a card holding mechanism located beside the receiving cavity. The card holding mechanism includes a slider, a spring abutting against the slider and deformable in the front-to-back direction, and a resilient locking device. The locking device includes a securing part retained to the slider, a resilient arm extending from the securing part with a locking protrusion for engagement within a locking notch of the electrical card. The slider provides an abutment face. The free end of the locking arm is adapted to abut against the abutment face when the electrical card is inserted into or withdrawn from the receiving cavity to outwardly deflect the resilient arm.

A heat sink is secured to the posts by the screw nuts and seated upon the CPU. A auxiliary retention piece is located upon the securing seat around one post so as to prevent the CPU from excessively tilting due to the screw nut fastening occurring on an opposite diagonal corner.
