Abstract: An electrical connector includes: a contact module including a housing and an upper and lower rows of contacts arranged in the housing, the housing having a base and a front tongue; a metallic shell enclosing the housing; and a metallic bracket affixed to the metallic shell and having a pair of soldering legs; wherein the base has a front face and plural recesses behind the front face, each recess having an interior face; and the metallic shell has plural stops accommodated in corresponding recesses, each stop having a front face positioned in front of the front face of the base and a rear face spaced a gap from the interior face of a corresponding recess.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative rectangular housing with a planar base defining opposite upper surface and lower surface thereon. Four restriction parts are formed at four corners of the base to cooperate with the base for commonly forming a receiving cavity to receive the electronic package therein. A plurality of first contacts are disposed in the base with corresponding contacting sections upwardly extending into the receiving cavity to upwardly abut against the corresponding pads on the undersurface of the electronic package. A plurality of second contacts are disposed in the base with corresponding contacting sections sidewardly extending into the receiving cavity to sidewardly abut against the corresponding pads on the side faces of the electronic package.

Abstract: An electrical assembly includes an electrical connector mounted upon a PCB and receiving a CPU therein, and a liquid Nitrogen heat dissipation device is mounted upon the PCB and intimately seated upon the CPU to remove the heat therefrom. The liquid Nitrogen heat dissipation device includes a case forming a chamber to receive the liquid Nitrogen therein. A plurality of fixing arms extend outwardly and radially to fix the liquid Nitrogent heat dissipation device in position. A fixing seat is attached upon the PCB to precisely located the CPU in position with regard to the electrical connector.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing with a plurality of passageways extending through opposite upper and lower surfaces thereof, and a plurality of contacts retained in the corresponding passageways, respectively. The contact includes a main body, a spring arm extending from an upper end of the main body with a contacting section at a free end region thereof, and a tab extending upwardly from the main body for assembling the contact into the corresponding passageway. An auxiliary part extends from a side edge of the main body at an angle with a solder pad at the bottom end for securing a solder ball thereto. The tab is dimensioned to allow a fixture to grasp thereon for applying a downward force thereto during downwardly inserting the contact into the passageway, and is optionally adapted to be removed when the contact is moved to almost the final position.

A pair of extension arms extend from the waist section of the main body in a direction perpendicular to the vertical plane. Abstract: A method of making a contact module of an electrical connector which includes a tongue and plural contacts exposed to two opposite surfaces of the tongue is characterized by the steps of: forming the contacts from a single contact carrier to have one contact thereof with a first contacting portion oriented reversely-symmetrically with respect to a second contacting portion of another contact thereof and to have two outermost contacts each with a respective integral latching portion; insert-molding the contacts with a first insulator while exposing front ends thereof and the latching portions; severing a carrier strip from the front ends of the plurality of contacts; and over-molding a second insulator to the first insulator and embedding the front ends of the plurality of contacts.

Abstract: A card edge connector includes an elongated insulative housing, a plurality of conductive terminals retained in the housing, and a latching structure. The housing defines a card receiving slot. The latching structure includes a locking portion and an operating portion. The operating portion defines an operating surface. The operating portion is made of insulative material, and a metal plate is attached to the operating surface. The metal plate can effectively improve the technical feeling of the card edge connector and protect the operating surface from being damaged by external tools.

Abstract: A card edge connector includes an insulative housing extending along a lengthwise direction, two rows of (contact) passageways formed in two opposite side walls with a central slot therebetween. Two rows of contacts are disposed within the corresponding passageways, respectively. The contacts include signal contacts and grounding contacts. Each side wall further forms an elongated channel by two sides of central wall under the central slot. A covering block is upwardly assembled into the corresponding channel after the corresponding contacts have been assembled into the corresponding passageways. Each block includes a deflectable latch engaged with the central wall. The covering block occupies at least one half of each passageway in the transverse direction perpendicular to the lengthwise direction. The covering block is optimally made of conductive plastic and forms a plurality of abutment ribs to respectively abut against the corresponding grounding contacts, respectively.

The board main defines a pair of locking recesses at opposite edges thereof. The elastic arms are locked with the locking recesses in condition that the mounting member slides upwards beyond the panel-supporting faces.
