  • Patent number: 9683529
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an intake manifold is provided that is capable of suppressing deterioration in the dimensional accuracy by correcting warping and deformation caused during molding. When an intake manifold that is made of plastic and has a surge tank and intake pipes extending from the surge tank is manufactured, distal members, which form the distal ends of the intake pipes, are positioned on a jig. In this state, the distal members and the main bodies of the intake pipes are fixed to each other by vibration-welding.

  • Patent number: 9682692
Abstract: A control apparatus for a vehicle that includes a first power transmission path, a second power transmission path, a clutch mechanism, a clutch controller, a supply current controller, a self-shut unit, and an electric power generating mode controller. The self-shut unit holds a conducting state of a second electric power supply line over a set time, in response to a change in a state of a first electric power supply line from a conducting state to a non-conducting state. The electric power generating mode controller executes an electric power generating mode that drives an electric motor to generate electric power upon a stop of a vehicle in which the clutch mechanism is disengaged. The supply current controller increases a supply current supplied to the clutch controller, in response to the change in the state of the first electric power supply line during the electric power generating mode.

  • Patent number: 9682708
Abstract: A driving support controller determines whether it is an opportunity to change a traveling lane based on a predetermined condition in an self-driving activated state in which an acceleration, a deceleration, and a steering of a vehicle equipped with the driving support controller can be automatically controlled, and performs a control to present a lane change proposal to an operator of the vehicle when a lane change is determined to be possible. The device performs an automatic lane change control in response to an intention of the operator agreeing to the lane change proposal. In this case, when the operator's intention is determined to be in disagreement with the lane change proposal, the control to present the lane change proposal to the operator is suspended until a predetermined cancelling condition is met.

  • Patent number: 9676333
Abstract: A vehicle control system executes a distance calculation process of detecting, corresponding points between a pair of captured images obtained by stereo-imaging, working out a coordinate shift between the corresponding points as a parallax, and calculating a distance up to each corresponding point based on the parallax; and a representative distance calculation process of dividing a distance image, in which a distance of each corresponding point is represented, into multiple strip regions that partition the image in a vertical direction, and working out, for each strip region, a distance for which a frequency is equal to or higher than a predefined value, as a representative distance. The system further executes a determination process of counting the number of representative distances within a monitoring region, and determining a magnitude relationship between the count value and a threshold value, to determine thereby the presence or absence of reflection.

  • Patent number: 9669472
Abstract: A drilling apparatus includes: a drill rotatable about a center axis and capable of advancing and retracting along the axis; and a pressing unit for pressing a work in an advancing direction of the drill. The drilling apparatus advances the drill while rotating the drill about the center axis to form a hole in the work, in a state in which the work is pressed by the pressing unit. A pressing force applied on the work by the pressing unit is set to a predetermined pressing force based on machining reaction applied to the drill from the work during drilling and the pressing force causing deformation of the work in the advancing direction of the drill. The predetermined pressing force can suppress deformation of the work and displacement of the drill due to the machining reaction. The machining reaction and the pressing force are calculated beforehand in a drilling test.

  • Patent number: 9671017
Abstract: A transmission control device includes a converter that converts continuous accelerator positions detected by an accelerator pedal sensor into a stepped step position, and a controller that controls the gear ratio of a continuously variable transmission based on the converted step position. The converter creates a hysteresis regarding the converted step position, when the accelerator depression amount increases, and when the accelerator depression amount decreases. In the case where the step position reaches a predetermined position or greater, the controller executes kick-down control where the gear ratio is controlled to a low side.

  • Patent number: 9637107
Abstract: In a travel control apparatus for a vehicle, a travel environment information acquisition unit acquires travel environment information on a travel environment of the vehicle. A travel information detector detects travel information on the vehicle in order to execute automatic driving control based on such information pieces. A lateral force generator generates lateral force to be applied to the vehicle during the automatic driving control. A torsion bar is interposed on a torque transmission path of a steering system. A steering wheel angle detector detects a steering wheel angle. A lateral force detector detects the lateral force acting on the vehicle. An intervening steering operation determination unit determines that a driver has performed an intervening steering operation when a characteristic of the detected steering wheel angle and lateral force differs from a reference characteristic that varies univocally when the steering wheel is in a no load condition.
