    Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide an image-recording process and an image-recording apparatus, even at high density image and high speed image output, capable of suppressing the occurrence of curl in the final image sheet, and controlling and giving the desired direction and size of the curl. For this purpose, an image-recording process includes recording an image on an image-recording material which includes a thermoplastic resin contained layer on a support, heating the image-recording material to a temperature higher than a glass transition temperature of thermoplastic resin in the thermoplastic resin contained layer, controlling the curl by contacting a curl controlling member with at least a part of the image-recording material, and cooling the image-recording material to a temperature below the glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic resin.

    Abstract: The hard copy has a transparent coat layer which is formed on an image recording surface of a recording medium on a side of which an image is recorded and covers at least a part of the image recording surface. The transparent coat layer has asperities corresponding to three-dimensional information of the image, materials of objects forming the image, or density variation in the surface area of the image. The size, shape, spacing, height or other features of the asperities can be varied. The hard copy creation method records the image on the recording medium on the side of the image recording surface and then forms on the image recording surface the transparent coat layer having the asperities. The hard copy is created by first printing the image, and then forming on the image a transparent coat layer with the asperities.
