Abstract: A network component comprising a receiver configured to receive a signed content item and an associated security information from a publisher, wherein the security information indicates which group from a plurality of groups is allowed to access the signed content item, a storage unit configured to cache the content item and the associated security information, a processor to implement procedures to enforce security policies defined by the security information, and a transmitter configured to send the signed content item from the cache to a subscriber when the subscriber is a member of a group indicated by the security information as authorized to access the signed content item.

Abstract: Method and system for band blocking in an optical telecommunication network. According to an embodiment, the present invention provides a system for optical network. The system includes an input that is configured to receive an input signal through a first optical input. The system also includes a band splitting module that is coupled to the input. The band splitting module is configured to separate the input signal into a plurality of bands. The plurality of bands includes a first band and a second band. The first band includes a first plurality of wave channels. The first plurality of wave channels is characterized by a first channel spacing. The second band includes a second plurality of wave channels, which is characterized by a second channel spacing.
Abstract: An optical receiver comprises an optical port configured to receive an encoded optical signal, and a demodulation block indirectly coupled to the port and comprising a multiplexer, wherein the multiplexer is configured to receive an encoded electrical signal, wherein the encoded electrical signal is associated with the encoded optical signal, and wherein the encoded electrical signal is encoded using a code division multiple access (CDMA) scheme, receive a code associated with the scheme, perform a dot multiplication of the encoded electrical signal and the code, and generate a differential voltage based on the dot multiplication.
Abstract: A data center interconnection (DCI) network may comprise a data center controller (DCC) managing a plurality of data centers (DCs) interconnected by a provider network managed by a network provider controller (NPC). The provider network may be an OpenFlow based software defined networking (SDN) transport network. The DCC may initiate a virtual network service (VNS) negotiation with the NPC to connect the DCs and may specify a network abstraction granularity level. The NPC may respond by computing paths through the provider network accordingly and providing the DCC with one or more virtual networks (VNs). The DCC may compute virtual paths through the VNs and send virtual network element (VNE) connection setup commands to the DCC. The DCC may convert the VNE connection setup commands into network element (NE) commands to setup connections in NEs of the provider network. The DCC and the NPC may perform fault monitoring, detection, and recovery.

Abstract: A method comprising generating an updated security key upon expiration of a key exchange timer, transferring the updated security key to a Coaxial Network Unit (CNU), retaining an original key, wherein the updated security key comprises a different key identification number than the original key, accepting and decrypting upstream traffic that employs either the original key or the updated key, after transferring the updated security key to the CNU, creating a key switchover timer, before the key switchover timer expires, verify that upstream traffic transferred from the CNU on a logical link uses the updated security key, and when upstream traffic is encrypted using the updated security key, begin using the updated security key to encrypt downstream traffic and clear the key switchover timer.

Abstract: An apparatus comprising a path computation element (PCE) associated with a domain in a network and configured to find a segment of a Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Traffic Engineering (TE) Label Switched Path (LSP) that crosses a plurality of domains in the network using a Constraint Shortest Path First (CSPF) algorithm or a reverse CSPF algorithm that computes a plurality of shortest paths in the domain of which the segment is selected, wherein the CSPF algorithm or the reverse CSPF algorithm is selected to reduce the number of shortest path computations in the domain based on the number of starting nodes and ending nodes that are considered for computing the shortest paths in the domain.
Abstract: A system and method for chassis cooling is provided. A preferred embodiment comprises an orthogonal backplane along with a hybrid cooling air flow. One air flow is routed horizontally through aligned and suitable openings on the backplane, vertically over components to be cooled, and horizontally out of the chassis. A second air flow is routed horizontally over components and through aligned and suitable openings on the backplane before it is routed horizontally out of the chassis.
Abstract: Efficient decoding in IEEE 802.11ah networks can be achieved by transmitting the signal (SIG) preamble field without interleaving bits within the SIG field. This may allow channel equalization and decoding steps to be performed contemporaneously upon reception of the frame, which allows for the implementation of non-linear channel equalization techniques (e.g., maximum likelihood (ML) equalization, etc.

Abstract: Systems and methods for communication systems with compressive sensing are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of signal processing includes receiving a data packet at a processor. The data packet includes compressively measured data in wavelet transform coefficients of a signal. The signal is reconstructed using a clustering property of the wavelet transform coefficients.
Abstract: System and method embodiments are provided for sparse beamforming design. In an embodiment, a method of designing sparse transmit beamforming for a network multiple-input multiple output (MIMO) system includes dynamically forming, by a cloud central processor, a cluster of transmission points (TPs) for use in transmit beamforming for each of a plurality of user equipment (UEs) in the system by optimizing a network utility function and system resources; determining, by the cloud central processor, a sparse beamforming vector for each UE according to the optimizing; and transmitting, by the cloud central processor, a message and first beamforming coefficients to each TP in the formed cluster associated with a first UE in the plurality of UEs, wherein each TP in the formed cluster associated with the first UE correspond to nonzero entries in a first beamforming vector corresponding to the first UE.
Abstract: An apparatus comprising one or more processors configured to receive a digital image comprising a current pixel and a plurality of nearby pixels, determine a pixel intensity of the current pixel, wherein the pixel intensity comprises a noise component, and reduce the noise component by applying a bilateral filter as a combination of a domain filter and a range filter on the current pixel, wherein the domain filter is dependent on the pixel intensity and geometric closeness between the current pixel and the nearby pixels, and wherein the range filter is dependent on the pixel intensity and photometric similarity between the current pixel and the nearby pixels.

Abstract: A system and method for transmitting and receiving acknowledgement information are provided. A method for communications device operations includes determining a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) response for each component carrier (CC) in a set of CCs configured by higher layer signaling, thereby producing a set of HARQ responses; generating an information vector from the set of HARQ responses, encoding the information vector; and transmitting the encoded information vector. The information vector comprises one or more bits respectively corresponding to a CC in the set of CCs. A bit is assigned a fixed value if HARQ response of a corresponding CC is set to DTX in response to no transmission detected over the CC.

Abstract: A method for updating and retrieving information for one or more nodes includes sending an update of at least a first indicator from at least a first node of a group of nodes to a home agent. Each of the group of nodes is associated with the home agent and corresponds to at least one of a plurality of indicators. The plurality of indicators is related to an internet protocol and includes the first indicator. The method further includes sending a request to the home agent for group node information that is associated with at least information related to the plurality of indicators corresponding to the group of nodes. Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a computing system. The computing system includes a processor, a memory, a discovery mechanism, a switch management mechanism, and a configuration management mechanism. The discovery mechanism discovers a remote switch. The switch management mechanism registers the remote switch and transmits a switch image to the remote switch, thereby allowing the remote switch to install the image. The configuration management mechanism configures the remote switch, thereby allowing the remote switch to be controlled by the computing system.
