Patents Assigned to Gebr. Bode & Co.
  • Patent number: 4346533
Abstract: Obstacle sensing apparatus for a pivotal door has a drive for operating the door between open and closed positions. Linkage is provided between the pivotal column which supports the door for swinging movement and a platform pivotally mounted on a fixed adjacent structure. When an obstacle is encountered the reactive force pivots the platform through the linkage and activates switches which reverse the drive. Elastic blocks keep the platform centered except when an obstacle is encountered.

  • Patent number: 4322912
Abstract: A safety device for a vehicle door of the type actuated by a turnable shaft driven by a piston cylinder unit having a piston rod connected by a hinge bolt to a lever arm fixedly mounted on the turnable shaft. The safety device comprises a carrier coupled to the lever arm and slidably receiving the piston rod, a switch element on the carrier and a control element on the piston rod. When the door encounters an obstacle, the control element is brought into contact with the switch element to reverse the direction of movement of the door.

  • Patent number: 4308691
Abstract: An apparatus for locking a door leaf comprising a turnable shaft secured to the door by an arm to drive the door in opening and closing movements under the action of a piston-drive which produces slight axial movement of the shaft as the door approaches the closed position. A first locking element is fixed to the door frame and a second locking element is fixed to the door, the locking elements having wedge-shaped noses which interengage and lock the locking elements when the door is closed and the shaft is lifted. The locking element on the door frame includes an axial extension overlapping the nose of the locking element on the door to form an abutment to limit the degree of angular closure of the door. The axial extension can carry a friction-reducing insert to facilitate relative movement between the noses when the door is lifted at the end of the closure movement.

  • Patent number: 4301621
Abstract: Anti-closing device for use with automatically opening and closing doors or the like, having a reversing switch for the door drive and a flexible rope for actuating the switch, the rope being held vertically along the free edge of the door in spaced relation and resiliently tensioned under spring action. One end of the rope is operatively connected to the switch for actuating the switch upon a deflection of the rope. A plurality of sleeves are arranged in a vertical row on the flexible rope and the lower end of the rope is connected to the lowermost sleeve while the uppermost sleeve bears against a support secured to the door whereby the sleeves are pressed against one another by the tensioning of the rope. The end surfaces of the sleeves which face one another bear tightly against each other in the position of rest and have a substantially larger outside diameter than the flexible rope.

  • Patent number: 4282686
Abstract: A swinging door construction for a vehicle comprising a door panel having upper and lower swing arms coupled thereto and connected to a rotatable swing column. A drive mechanism is secured to the body of the vehicle and operatively engages the swing column to rotate the same and effect swinging of the door. The lower swing arm is connected to the swing column by a connecting member which extends upwardly above the drive mechanism and is secured to the swing column.
