  • Patent number: 3980280
Abstract: A material processing device and method for milling, emulsifying, dispersing, blending, polymerizing and hydrogenizing flowable materials. The device includes a processing chamber through which flowable material flows, an oscillating surfacing of the processing chamber which produces an oscillatory squeezing action on the flowable material within the chamber, an oscillating motor which drives the oscillating surface, a chamber inlet for dispersing the flowable material into the chamber and a chamber outlet for discharging and displacing the flowable material from the chamber.

  • Patent number: 3951610
Abstract: A portable olefin gas generating apparatus such as for generating ethylene to initiate the ripening of various climateric fruits. A reaction liquid is fed by gravity to a reaction chamber where it is catalytically converted into the desired olefin gas.The reaction liquid includes an alcohol such as ethanol, a denaturing agent such as a ketone, an ester of a monocarboxylic acid, gasoline or gum rubber and a catalyst activating agent such as an ester of monocarboxylic acid, a straight chain hydrocarbon or an aromatic hydrocarbon. To control the temperature of the gas generator apparatus an electronic temperature controller circuit is used in the reaction chamber.

  • Patent number: 3946039
Abstract: Method and manufacture are provided for preparing a reticulated foam structure by: investing an organic reticulated foam structure with an inorganic composition, which composition is inert under the conditions for forming the reticulated structure; allowing the inorganic suspension to set to form an investment; removing the organic reticulated foam structure; filling the voids of the investment with a fluid composition to form a reticulated casting; and dissolving the investment so as to leave a reticulated foam structure casting.
