Abstract: Digital imaging systems and methods are described for analyzing pixel data of an image of a shaving stroke for determining pressure being applied to a user's skin. A plurality of training images of a plurality of individuals are aggregated, each of the training images comprising pixel data of a respective individual when shaving with a shaving razor. A pressure model, trained with the pixel data, is operable to determine pressure being applied to the respective individual's skin. An image of a user when shaving with the shaving razor is received and analyzed, by the pressure model, to determine a user-specific pressure being applied to the user's skin by the shaving razor when a user shaving stroke is taken. A user-specific electronic recommendation to address at least one feature identifiable within the pixel data is generated and rendered, on a display screen of a user computing device.

Abstract: Artificial intelligence based systems and methods are described for analyzing pixel data of an image of a user's body for determining a hair density value of the user's hair. An example method includes aggregating a plurality of training images of a plurality of users' bodies, and training a hair density model operable to output a hair density value. The example method may further include receiving an image of a user comprising pixel data of a portion of the user's body or body area, and analyzing, by the hair density model, the image to determine a user-specific hair density value of the user's hair. The example method may further include generating a product recommendation, wherein the product is designed to address a feature identifiable within the pixel data of the user's body or body area.
Abstract: An electronic personal care device with a housing defining a sealed cavity. A power source positioned within the sealed cavity of the housing. A first circuit board is positioned within the sealed cavity of the housing. A second circuit board positioned outside the sealed cavity and in electrical connection with the power source. A light guide is mounted to the second circuit board. The light guide having a body defining an opening. A light source is positioned within the opening, spaced apart from the light guide and mounted to the circuit board. A transparent adhesive layer is positioned around the light source and on the second circuit board forming water tight seal.

Abstract: A method of resetting a digital counter for a personal care appliance by sending an electrical output signal from an optical sensor to a control circuit. The electrical output signal is compared to a predetermined value with the control circuit or a change in the electrical output signal from the optical sensor is detected over time. A signal is sent to a consumer user interface by the control circuit based on the electrical output signal and the predetermined value or based on the change in the electrical output signal from the optical sensor. The digital counter is reset based on an input signal from the consumer user interface.

Abstract: Razors cartridges including a guard, a cap, and at least two blades with parallel sharpened edges located between the guard and cap are provided. The first blade has a first color and a second blade has a second color, where the first color is different than the second color. The blade color corresponds to an attribute of the blade (e.g., low cut force) that the color is disposed on or an attribute of the razor cartridge (e.g., sensitive skin). The color of the blade corresponds to a target user of the razor cartridge (e.g., male or female). The first blade defines a blade edge near or nearest the guard and a second blade defines a blade edge near or nearest the cap.

Abstract: An injection-molded first component of an article, the first component including a sheath element formed from a pre-sheath element, the sheath element having a cavity and a recess extending from the cavity into a wall of the sheath element surrounding the cavity. The recess is formed by a through hole in the pre-sheath element and a lid element closing the through hole. The lid element is connected to the pre-sheath element with a plastic material injection-molded over at least a part of a parting line between the lid element and the pre-sheath element.

Abstract: A connector with a first substantially cylindrical section having a cavity with a spring-loaded ball-snap element comprising a ball and a spring. An at least partially conically shaped section connecting the first substantially cylindrical section and a second substantially cylindrical section. The first and the second substantially cylindrical sections and the at least partially conically section define a longitudinal length extension. The first substantially cylindrical section and the second substantially cylindrical section are off-center with respect to the longitudinal length extension. A head having a hollow portion is dimensioned to receive the second substantially cylindrical section, the at least partially conically shaped section and a part of the first substantially cylindrical section. The hollow portion has an inner wall with a circular recess dimensioned to receive the ball, removably attaching the head to the second substantially cylindrical section.
Abstract: A shaving razor cartridge with a housing having a top surface and a bottom surface. A guard is at the front of the housing. A cap is at a rear of the housing. At least one blade is mounted to the housing between the guard and the cap. The housing has a wall defining an opening extending from the top surface to the bottom surface that is configured to receive a portion of a handle. The wall having a pair of arms each with a distal end extending toward each other defining a gap. The bridge is a thermo-plastic elastomer that is different than a polymeric material of the housing.
