  • Patent number: 6367369
Abstract: A side strut (5) for a lower steering arm of a tractor has a single-action hydraulic cylinder with a cylinder housing (9) and a piston (16). The piston includes a hollow cylinder (17) with a base (18). In the hollow cylinder (17), a rod-shaped element (20) is adjustable against the force of a spring from a moved-in position into a moved-out position. Because the piston (16) and the setting element (20) move in the same direction, it is possible to achieve a telescopic design which leads to a short installation length which, in turn, results in a more advantageous buckling strength.

  • Patent number: 6308588
Abstract: A drive (1) for driving, or drives in, agricultural implements, has a drive housing (2) with a first shaft (7) which is rotatably supported around a first axis of rotation (4) in the drive housing (2). A first shaft end (10) of the first shaft (7) projects from the drive housing (2). A first gear (13) is arranged on the first shaft (7). The first gear (13) is axially fixed and rotatable, to a limited extent, relative to the first shaft (7). A second shaft (24) is rotatably supported around a second axis of rotation (20) in the drive housing (2). A first shaft end (27) of the second shaft (24) projects from the drive housing (2). A second gear (29) is firmly connected to the second shaft (24) in the axial direction and in the direction of rotation. The first gear (13) and the second gear (29) engage one another. The selected assembly enables a limited amount of rotation of the first shaft (7), with the second shaft (24) being stationary.

  • Patent number: 6290605
Abstract: The invention relates to an assembly having a universal joint (1) with a first joint yoke (2), a second joint yoke (3), a cross member (4) and a gear (5). The first joint yoke (2) is rotatable around a first axis of rotation (6). The second joint yoke (3) is rotatable around a second axis of rotation (7). The cross member unit (4) articulatable connects the joint yokes (2, 3) to one another. Thus, angles of their axes of rotation (6, 7) are adjustable relative to one another. The gear (5) acts as a drive. The gear (5) is connected in a rotationally fast way to the first joint yoke (2). The gear (5) is arranged co-axially relative to the axis of rotation (6) around the center of the cross member unit (4). Thus, this assembly reduces the size of the angles of articulation of universal joints of a short driveshaft.

  • Patent number: 6283488
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for stabilizing the two lower steering arms (1) of a tractor. The lower steering arms (1) can be actuated by a hydraulic power lift (9). Each lower steering arm (1) is associated with a side strut (6) which includes a single-acting hydraulic cylinder (7) to stabilize and secure the lower steering arm (1). A pre-selection valve (12) and a control valve (13) enable the hydraulic cylinders to be connected to the power lift (9) either via a line or loaded separately by a second pressure source (P2). Thus, independently of the actuation of the power lift (9), the two lower steering arms can be centrally centered by the hydraulic cylinders (7).

  • Patent number: 6267023
Abstract: An assembly with a lower steering arm has a strut 1 and an attaching end 16. To achieve a cost-effective design while at the same time reducing the play between the attaching end 16 and the end of the strut 1 received therein, the attaching end 16 includes a base member 18 and a cover 19. A blocking pawl 34 is supported in the base member 18. The cover 19 is welded to the base member 18 and comprises a stop face 30 for the end face 10 of the strut 1. Thus, any tolerances in the region of the base member 18 provided in the form of a forging do not affect the position of the stop face 30. The latter can be aligned when connecting the base member 18 and the cover 19. Because of its setting contour, the actuating lever 43 can be used for both the right hand and the left hand lower steering arm.

  • Patent number: 6218737
Abstract: A device for setting the length of a top link (7) of an attaching device of a tractor (1) has a piston/cylinder unit (14) for length setting purposes. The piston/cylinder (14) has a displacement sensor (20) which records the respective actual length setting of the top link (7). The displacement sensor (20) generates an actual proportional length signal. A lift position sensor (13) is provided which generates an electric signal representing the respective actual lift position of the lower steering arms (4). A nominal length setting of the top link (7), which refers to the respective actual lift position, can be stored in a storage unit (33). When a new actual lift position is reached during the automatic mode of operation, it is possible to generate an electric control signal which corresponds to the nominal length setting of the top link (7). The signal is transmitted to the comparator of a control unit (34). The comparator compares the control signal with the actual length signal.

  • Patent number: 5980389
Abstract: A driveshaft has two shaft parts (4, 6) which provide a coupling. To facilitate the operation of coupling the two shaft parts (4, 6) to one another, the coupling operation is divided into two phases. A member initially aligns the two shaft parts (4, 6) along a common longitudinal axis (13). Also, the shafts are rotationally fast connected between the shaft parts. A centering journal (20) centers the two shaft parts (4, 6) relative to one another on a common longitudinal axis (13). The centering journal centers the bore (16) of the first profiled tube (12) with a relative rotation of the two shaft parts (4, 6) continuing to be possible. When inserting the two shaft parts (4, 6) into one another, the first coupling part (19), which is firmly connected to the first profiled tube (12), via its claws approaches the claws of the second coupling part (40). The second coupling part (40) is displaceable on the second profiled tube (28) via a setting sleeve (34) against the force of a spring (38).
