Abstract: A headliner assembly apparatus includes an input delivery device attempting to deliver an input related to a predetermined headliner to a controller that is in communication with the input delivery device. An indexing assembly is in communication with the controller, wherein the indexing assembly positions at least one headliner detail in an installation position in response to the input related to the predetermined headliner. A headliner support is adapted to position the predetermined headliner, wherein the predetermined headliner is placed on the indexing assembly, and wherein the headliner is placed to engage the at least one headliner detail in the installation position. A detail installing assembly couples the at least one headliner detail in the installation position to the predetermined headliner.
Abstract: Various structures and methods are described herein to track driving of a restricted driver. In an example, an additional criterion is also tracked, which can be an authorized driving supervisor in the vehicle. This criterion is separate from the driving data and is used to meet the requirements of a licensing agency. The criterion can be the presence of a licensed driver in the vehicle, e.g., in the front passenger seat, with the restricted driver. The vehicle can use its onboard sensors and computing system to determine that a licensed driver is supervising the driving of the restricted driver.

Abstract: An epoxy composition that includes an epoxy-terminated prepolymer, an alkanolamine hardener having at least one hydroxyl group and an organometallic compound, where amine groups of the alkanolamine hardener react with epoxy groups of the epoxy-terminated prepolymer in a stoichiometric ratio to form a cured epoxy composition. The epoxy-terminated prepolymer is formed from a reaction product of an amine terminated polymeric polyol and a molar excess of epoxy groups in an epoxy monomer, relative to a molar amount of amine groups in the amine terminated polymeric polyol.
Abstract: A bicycle helmet includes a shell, a pad, and a sensor system. The sensor system is at least partially disposed on the shell or the pad. The sensor system can detect a user status and wirelessly transmit a status signal representing the detected user status to a paired device. The paired device can determine whether the user has suffered an injury and whether to contact emergency services. The bicycle helmet may include an integrated microphone and speakers so that the user can speak with an emergency services operator.
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for selecting a group of cylinders for selective deactivation, in a variable displacement engine system, based at least on a regeneration state of an exhaust catalyst. The position of one or more valves and throttles may be adjusted based on the selective deactivation to reduce back-flow through the disabled cylinders while also maintaining conditions of a downstream exhaust catalyst. Pre-ignition and knock detection windows and thresholds may also be adjusted based on the deactivation to improve the efficiency of knock and pre-ignition detection.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for adjusting an anticipatory controller of an exhaust gas sensor coupled in an engine exhaust. In one embodiment, the method comprises adjusting fuel injection responsive to exhaust oxygen feedback from the anticipatory controller of the exhaust gas sensor and adjusting one or more parameters of the anticipatory controller responsive to a type of oxygen sensor degradation. In this way, the anticipatory controller may be adapted based on the type and magnitude of the degradation behavior to increase performance of the air-fuel control system.

Abstract: A vehicle computing system configured to program a mobile device as a key fob. The vehicle computing system includes a processor and a user interface. The user interface is configured to receive input from a user. The processor is configured to detect a valid key fob configured to control one or more vehicle control functions. The processor may transmit vehicle security codes for programming a connected mobile device to implement the one or more vehicle control functions based on a request to create a mobile device key fob via the user interface and a detected valid key fob. Once programmed, the mobile device may implement one or more vehicle control functions on the mobile device when the valid key fob is not present.
Abstract: A method for enriching the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine with a reducing agent is provided, the internal combustion engine including at least one cylinder and having an intake system for admission of charge air, an exhaust gas discharge system for discharging exhaust gases, and at least one exhaust gas aftertreatment system for reducing nitrogen oxides arranged in the exhaust gas discharge system and which is periodically provided with a supply of reducing agent. The method comprises enriching the exhaust gas with the reducing agent in the exhaust gas discharge system upstream of at least the one exhaust gas aftertreatment system when a fuel supply of the at least one cylinder of the internal combustion engine is deactivated due to an absence of load demand.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved process for making mono- and di-alkoxylated piperazine compounds especially dihydroxyethylpiperazine. The improvement comprises the addition of an acid to the piperazine compound prior to the addition of an alkylene oxide to a reactor wherein the alkoxylated piperazine compound is prepared. Said improvement reduces the concentration of undesirable glycol ether byproducts which contribute undesirable color and foaming of the alkoxylated piperazine compounds.

Abstract: Various methods for compensating a deflected linkage in a wastegate arrangement are provided. In one example, current is applied to an actuator to move a wastegate valve coupled through a linkage to the actuator for diverting gasses from a turbocharger. The position of the actuator is indicated, and a correction to said indicated actuator position is applied compensating for deflection of the linkage based at least on said applied current. Said applied current is adjusted when said corrected actuator position reaches a position corresponding to a desired valve position.

Abstract: Methods are provided for controlling an engine. One method may include adjusting airflow to a turbocharger arrangement with a turbine bypass valve bypassing a first turbine from a high-pressure turbocharger and a wastegate bypassing a second turbine from a low-pressure turbocharger; responsive to valve degradation, setting the turbine bypass valve fully open and the wastegate fully closed; and limiting engine torque based on a flow through a compressor of the low pressure turbocharger. In the event of valve degradation, limiting torque may reduce overspeed and surge of the low pressure turbocharger.
