Abstract: A method and apparatus for concealing the CRS anchor of a vehicle when not in use and exposing the anchor when CRS attachment is required. The inventive concept disclosed herein provides the use of concealing seat trim that can be removed, slid, or rotated to reveal the CRS anchor. The disclosed system provides accessibility and finger and hand clearance to the anchor. The anchor concealing trim piece of the disclosed inventive concept may be small and individual, one for each affected anchor, or may be a single insert that spans the distance between multiple anchors. The size of the anchor concealing trim piece can vary based on anchor location and styling as well as on how much additional accessibility is desired. The anchor concealing trim pieces may be held in their concealing position in a pocket formed in the seat by hook-and-loop fasteners or CRS web strap and clips fastened to a wire frame.

Abstract: A vehicle may be steered without a driver's hands being on a vehicle steering control mechanism. A presence of an object within a predetermined distance of the vehicle may be detected using data from at least one object detection sensor that provides data to at least one of a passive safety system, a lane control system, a speed control system, and a brake control system. A steering control mechanism hands-on mode can then be enabled based at least in part on the presence of the object.

Abstract: A target speed of an electric bicycle is determined. A first motor controller of the electric bicycle is instructed to adjust a first motor to substantially achieve the target speed. A second motor controller of an electric-powered trailer connected to the electric bicycle is instructed to adjust a second motor to substantially achieve the target speed.
Abstract: A method of controlling a line pressure in a transmission is provided. Line pressure in a transmission is set to a pressure value including a first term that is proportional to an input torque value. The first term has a coefficient of proportionality that is increased in response to a signal indicating clutch slippage. The input torque value is a measured input torque value in a steady-state condition. The input torque value may be a maximum of the measured input torque value and a driver demand torque value in a transient condition.

Abstract: The methods described allow for reducing particulate emissions from a direction injection engine during a starting phase, while also maintaining the engine start phase within a predetermined threshold. In one particular example, the methods comprise adjusting at least one of a fuel release pressure threshold and enrichment factor based on an engine condition; activating a starting device to rotate a crankshaft coupled to an engine cylinder without injecting any fuel; supplying fuel to the cylinder based on the enrichment factor only when a fuel pressure exceeds the fuel release pressure threshold; and stratifying a cylinder charge while adjusting a fuel injection within a compression phase and/or expansion phase of the engine. In this way, an amount of fuel injected may be evaporated in the combustion chamber while preventing a combustion wall wetting, which allows for reduced particulate emissions, particularly at reduced temperatures.
Abstract: An example electric vehicle component includes a current sensor shield that blocks magnetic fields of a contactor from influencing a current sensor. An example method of improving current sensor measurements includes blocking magnetic fields moving from a contactor toward the current sensor.
Abstract: A cargo bed assembly for a pickup truck includes an aluminum truck bed above a pair of frame rails. A plurality of roll-formed 6000-series aluminum cross-members extend along a width of the truck bed and contact the underside of the truck bed. The cross-members include longitudinal channels. Each cross-member contacts a pair of extruded 6000-series aluminum spacers underneath the cross-member at spaced locations to align with the frame rails. The spacers contact the frame rails and at least partially surround a portion of the outer surface of the cross-members to separate the cross-members from the frame rails.
