  • Patent number: 4001568
Abstract: A monetary receipt and payment managing apparatus operates, when a teller transacts receipt and payment with respect to cash, checks, and bills to classify and operate on data applied according to the contents of the transaction, and to dispense cash necessary for the payment. The apparatus comprises buffer memories for storing the data classified and operated on for individual transaction and main memories for summing and storing the data thus operated on separately according to classification items for every transaction. The operation processing of data on one transaction is assigned to the buffer memories, while the summation and storage of subtotal data on transactions successively transacted are assigned to the main memories, whereby summation data especially important as stored data can be positively secured, and data necessary for automatically dispensing cash on the basis of the contents stored in the buffer memories can be readily and positively obtained.

  • Patent number: 3991778
Abstract: A coin-processing device for sorting and processing various sized coins, having a diameter-presetting member and a thickness-presetting member respectively defining the maximum width and height of a coin passageway which are actuated and preset simultaneously and adjustably by a control mechanism operated manually through a single control knob thereby to classify each kind of coin to be processed (e.g., to be counted), coins being driven along the passageway by an endless belt, which is movably supported so as to adapt itself to the thickness of each kind of coin and adapted to be adjusted at its height in response to adjustment of said control mechanism. Presetting of the diameter-manipulation member simultaneously actuates plates defining a coin entrance to the passageway thereby to preset the shape and size of the entrance to suit each kind of coin.

  • Patent number: 3983367
Abstract: A sheet counting machine has a sheet counting mechanism which is controlled through a coincidence detecting circuit operating to compare a number of sheets counted with a predetermined number of sheets. The coincidence detecting circuit is provided with a mode changing switch and an inverter connected thereto in the output path to relatively reverse a logical level of an output of the coincidence detecting circuit stop mode. The logical level thus relatively reversed is utilized for controlling the operation of the mechanism through switching elements and relay elements.

  • Patent number: 3977669
Abstract: An apparatus for stacking pieces of paper money or the like as they are discharged one by one from a validation or like apparatus. The stacking apparatus includes a pair of horizontally spaced guide strips forming thereunder a passageway slanting downwardly from a horizontal slot through which the bills are introduced into the apparatus. Arranged for up-and-down movement along a substantially elliptic path across the passageway is a pusher adapted to press each incoming bill down into a storage chamber from the passageway, the storage chamber having a floating bottom which is spring biased upwardly. The bill pressed down into the storage chamber is held by means including a pair of retractable holder plates operating in synchronism with the up-and-down movement of the pusher.

  • Patent number: 3958583
Abstract: A money dispenser is provided with first and second detectors for detecting a bank note passing therethrough, the first detector being disposed at the money loading side of a money conveyer and the second detector being disposed at the money unloading side of the same so that a money dispensing operation is checked twice as to whether an amount of money actually dispensed is coincident with an amount of money registered to be dispensed. Furthermore, according to another aspect of this invention, the money dispenser is provided with display units which indicate the amount dispensed until the next money dispensing operation starts.

  • Patent number: 3955340
Abstract: A bundle of bills or like sheets to be bound is clamped between a pair of holder plates and is revolved therewith to a predetermined angular position, where the leading end of a tape is inserted into the bundle of sheets through one edge thereof by tape and insertion means comprising a movable separator finger and tape guide plate. This tape, having a layer of a thermoplastic synthetic resin adhesive coated on one surface thereof, is wound around the bundle of sheets as the same is further revolved with the holder plates. Tape bonding means including a heater pad is provided for thermally fastening the loose end of the tape wound around the bundle of sheets.

  • Patent number: 3953022
Abstract: In a sheet counter in which sheets held in a stack in sheet-holding means are successively separated from the stack by suction heads, there are provided first electrical switch means such as a microswitch which is closed when the sheet-holding means has been manually moved to a sheet-loading position and second switch means which is closed when the stack of sheets loaded on the sheet-holding means has been carried to a counting position. An electric motor for imparting rotation to the suction heads and a vacuum pump for creating a partial vacuum therein are set in operation only when both of the first and second switch means have been thus closed. The sheet counter is also provided with means for properly readjusting the position of the suction heads relative to the stack of sheets prior to counting operation.

  • Patent number: 3950921
Abstract: In a coin packaging apparatus of the type comprising a stacking cylinder for stacking a prescribed number of coins of the same denomination, a cutter blade for severing a wrapper strip as the same is unwound from its roll, wrapping rolls for winding the severed piece of wrapper strip around the circumference of the stack of coins, and a pair of crimping hooks for crimping the opposite marginal edges of the wrapper strip over both ends of the coin stack, several wrapper rolls of different widths are used interchangeably in accordance with the denomination of coins to be packaged, and each time a new wrapper roll is installed in position on the apparatus, its width is sensed by a wrapper width sensing member which correspondingly actuates a mechanism for adjustably moving one of the crimping hooks in the direction of the other hook and a mechanism for adjustably changing the position of the cutter blade in the transverse direction of the wrapper strip which will extend therepast from its roll.

  • Patent number: 3952183
Abstract: A neat arrangement such as a pack of bills or like sheets to be counted is placed on one of their longitudinal edges in a sheet stand formed on the top of the casing of a sheet counting apparatus. An infeed mechanism comprising first and second infeed rolls frictionally feed the sheets one by one into the apparatus. A pair of sensing rolls are mounted under the second infeed rolls for sensing the passage thereover of each sheet thus fed into the apparatus and hence for actuating a counter switch. The thus counted sheets are successively loaded on a conveyor mechanism at one end thereof and are thereby transported toward the other end, where the successive counted sheets are stacked for recovery purposes. The apparatus further comprises an adjusting mechanism for adjusting the position of the sheets in the sheet stand and in the recovery mechanism according to their size and a stop motion mechanism for instantly terminating the infeeding operation of the sheets.

  • Patent number: 3949200
Abstract: A first detecting section is provided for detecting whether or not the operator has specified notes of particular denominations for dispensation of his desired amount of money and, if he has not, for delivering to a storage section an electrical signal representative of the amount of money to be dispensed in a minimum number of notes selected from those of various denominations prepared in the money dispensing machine. If he has, a second detecting section becomes operative to detect the specified denominations and to deliver to the storage section electrical signals representative of respective amounts of money to be dispensed in the notes of the specified denominations. The selective operation of either of these first and second detecting sections is ensured by a locking section which locks the operation of whichever is unrequired according to whether notes of particular denominations have been specified or not.

  • Patent number: 3938303
Abstract: For packaging a preselected number of coins of the same denomination in the form of a neat stack, there is provided apparatus which broadly includes an infeed mechanism, coin stacking mechanism, coin wrapping mechanism, coin guide mechanism, wrapper feed mechanism, and adjusting mechanism. Each preselected number of coins of the same denomination to be enclosed in a single package is fed from the infeed mechanism into a stacking cylinder of the coin stacking mechanism, where the coins are rearranged into a neat stack. The coin guide mechanism includes a guide rod movable up and down for transporting the stack of coins from within the stacking cylinder down to a prescribed position between a plurality of wrapping rolls of the coin wrapping mechanism. A strip of wrapper is then delivered from the wrapper feed mechanism to the coin wrapping mechanism and is wound around the circumference of the stack of coins as the same is caused frictionally to rotate in circumferential contact with the wrapping rolls.
