  • Patent number: 12246700
Abstract: A method of estimating a performance characteristic of a wheel of a vehicle, includes selecting relevant input features based on wheel dynamics and tire behavior, and collecting experimental data for each of the relevant input features at each of a plurality of vehicle operating conditions. The method further includes manually identifying and labeling wheel stability status over time from the experimental data and calculating tractive limit over time from the experimental data. The method also includes training a tractive limit model and training a wheel stability status model. The method further includes receiving a plurality of testing inputs, wherein each of the plurality of testing inputs is received from a sensor on-board the vehicle or from a controller on-board the vehicle and, processing the received testing inputs in a predetermined machine learning process to calculate in one or more data processors a prediction of the performance characteristic.

  • Publication number: 20250079483
Abstract: Presented are liquid-gas (LG) separator assemblies for segregating air and water in fuel cell system (FCS) exhaust streams, methods for making/using such assemblies, and FCS-powered vehicles equipped with such assemblies. An LG separator assembly includes a quick-connect (QC) fitting with a fitting body having a first open end, which couples to an exhaust pipe of the FCS to thereby receive an exhaust stream expelled from the FCS. An LG separator unit has a separator body with opposite open ends, a first of which couples to a second open end of the fitting body to thereby releasably couple to the exhaust pipe and receive therefrom the exhaust stream through the QC fitting. The LG separator unit extracts liquid water entrained within the exhaust stream, ejects the extracted water through a water nozzle located within the separator body, and expels the remaining exhaust stream through a second end of the separator body.

Abstract: Systems and methods for automatic removal for selected training data from a dataset are provided. Systems and methods are provided for identifying portions of radar data that contain information that is not present in camera and/or lidar data. The identified portions of the radar data can be processed by a neural network to provide the additional information. The identified parts of the radar data can then be processed while the remaining parts of the radar data remain unprocessed. In various examples, features can be extracted from identified regions of the radar data using a neural network and fused with camera and/or lidar features. In some examples, the fused features can be used for object detection.
