Abstract: Apparatus are provided for automatic repositioning of fluid nozzles when operating on a workpiece with a tool. The apparatus includes a nozzle assembly configured to convey a fluid to a target zone defined on the workpiece and/or on the tool. The target zone has a location that varies over time. A spring applies a spring force to bias the nozzle assembly toward the target zone, and moves the nozzle assembly as the location of the target zone varies. The nozzle assembly moves to a position relative to the target zone by a combination of action of the spring force and of any hydrodynamic force of the fluid, when moving through the nozzle assembly.

Abstract: A system for classifying a road crossing intention of a pedestrian includes a processor including a pretrained image encoder generating an image embedding based upon an input image. The system further includes a remote server receiving the image embedding. The remote server device further references a plurality of pretrained image and text embeddings each corresponding to either a positive road crossing intention or a negative road crossing intention. The remote server device further determines a plurality of proximity values evaluating whether the input image is closer to the positive road crossing intention or the negative road crossing intention, evaluating the image embedding against each of the pretrained embeddings. The remote server device further classifies a road crossing intention of the pedestrian based upon the plurality of proximity values. The system further includes generates a road crossing intention output based upon the road crossing intention of the pedestrian.

Abstract: Vehicles, systems and methods for acquiring a choreographic light pattern not previously available to the vehicles are presented. In some aspects, a target vehicle includes a processing system therein, an input interface coupled to the processing system and accessible to a user, and one or more image or other sensors positioned for capturing data from a source vehicle emitting a light pattern of interest. The processing system may scan and record a light pattern emitted by a portion of another vehicle in a line of sight of the vehicle. The scan uses data from the sensors and pattern recognition code. The identified light pattern is converted into metadata and transmitted to a central database. If the transmitted pattern is available and compatible with the target vehicle, the database may send a prompt to the target vehicle to download or purchase the pattern.

Abstract: Presented are intelligent vehicle systems for automating thermal event mitigation for fully or partially enclosed vehicles, methods for making/using such systems, and vehicles equipped with such systems. A method of controlling operation of a vehicle includes a vehicle controller confirming the subject vehicle is parked and, once confirmed, responsively evaluating vehicle data indicating the vehicle is at least partially enclosed in a parking area and, thus, is in a vehicle parked in enclosed space (VPES) state. After determining the vehicle is both parked and in a VPES state, the controller detects a thermal event in a battery cell of the vehicle's battery system. Upon detection of the thermal event, the controller responsively determines path plan data with a designated route for extricating the vehicle from the parking area. The controller then commands the vehicle's autonomous driving system to execute control operations maneuvering the vehicle away from the parking area.
