    Abstract: A circuit for controlling a speed and a phase of a VCR servo system includes a Control (CTL) signal generation section, a speed error detection section, a phase error detection section and a speed/phase control section. The phase error detection section has a recording phase error detector and a playback phase error detector. A CTL signal blank discrimination section inputs a CTL pulse from the playback phase error detector, discriminates a blank interval of a CTL signal based on the inputted CTL pulse, and outputs discrimination signal in accordance with the discriminated result. A first switching control section inputs the discrimination signal, an FF/REW mode signal, a recording mode signal and a tape type discriminating signal and performs a logical operation based on the inputted signals to output a first control signal.

    Abstract: A point type remote control apparatus and method thereof, which can directly move a point to a desired position on a display screen, and thereby select quickly from a menu and provide convenience in use. The present invention comprises a signal transmitter for transmitting a specified pulse signal towards the desired point on the display screen, and a receiver/controller having a plurality of signal receiving sensors positioned around the display screen. The receiver/controller calculates a positional coordinate of a point of the transmitter by converting the intensity differences of the pulse signals received by the signal receiving sensors into phase differences, and displays the point corresponding to the positional coordinate on the display screen. In addition, the present invention comprises a receiver/controller for counting real phase differences of each pulse signal received by the signal receiving sensors.

    Abstract: A color cathode ray tube includes a black matrix layer formed on the flat portion of a glass panel, a patterned metal oxide layer formed on the black matrix layer, a fluorescent layer formed on the patterned metal oxide layer and directly on the glass panel therebetween, and a metal reflection layer formed on the fluorescent layer on both the curved and flat portions of the glass panel, wherein the mean particle size of the metal oxide is larger than the mean particle size of the black matrix. The relative particle size of the metal oxide and the black matrix provides for increased adhesion of the reflective metal layer, and alleviates problems with out-gassing of the black matrix.

The moving member moves in response to insertion of the tape cassette into the inlet port. In turn, an actuating member is connected to and moves in response to the movement of the moving member for causing the reel tables to move to a desired position for receiving a predetermined size tape cassette.

The method comprises the first step of detecting errors from vertical and horizontal sections of a code of data played back from a tape and setting cross-points of the detected errors to flags, the second step of detecting errors from the horizontal code sections of the played back data, correcting the detected errors and erasing only the errors positioned at the cross-points set to the flags at the first steep, in ones of the horizontal code sections from which detectable but non-correctable errors are detected, and the third step of correcting the errors erased at the second in a vertical direction.

    Abstract: A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus with game pack driver having improved loading features. The apparatus includes a cartridge cover pivotally connected to the front panel of a main body of the apparatus which enables a game pack to be loaded even if only the front panel is exposed. In another embodiment, a block door having a game pack socket is placed in the front panel such that the block door can be linearly moved forward and backward relative to the front panel. In still another embodiment, a game pack receiving door is pivoted to the front panel, while a game pack socket is separately provided in the interior of the main body. The apparatus of the invention thus allows a game pack be loaded in the game pack driver at the front of the apparatus. The apparatus also allow a user to insert the game pack into the socket while view in the socket, thus to facilitate loading of the game pack.
