Abstract: There is a need for polymers which offer increased heat resistance, ultraviolet light resistance, and low fogging characteristics for utilization in automotive interiors. It is particularly critical for polymers which are utilized in making skin compounds for automotive instrument and door panels to display excellent heat resistance, ultraviolet light resistance, and low fogging characteristics.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a rubber composition containing a starch/plasticizer composite and to pneumatic tires having at least one component comprised of such rubber composition. Such tire component can be, for example, its circumferential tread or other component of the tire. The starch/plasticizer composite can be a composite of starch and plasticizer such as, for example, poly(ethylenevinyl alcohol) and/or cellulose acetate or any suitable plasticizer which results in such starch/plasticizer composite having a melting point below that of the starch alone, and particularly below about 160.degree. C., and to thereby enable the starch to be more processable with conventional elastomer composition processing equipment.

Abstract: An air spring assembly having a flexible member and moveable piston is provided. A bead surface of the flexible member is secured into a channel in the moveable piston to create an air-tight seal which can withstand tensile stress. The hollow piston increases the volume of the air reservoir which contributes to a reduction in the spring rate.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein n is an integer from 1 to 4, R is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and methyl; wherein when n is 1, R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl radicals having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, aryl radicals having 6 to 12 carbon atoms, aralkyl radicals having 7 to 12 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl radicals having 5 to 12 carbon atoms and radicals of the formula: ##STR2## wherein x is an integer of from 1 to 7; wherein when n is 2, R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of alkylene radicals having 2 to 18 carbon atoms, cycloalkylene radicals having 5 to 12 carbon atoms, arylene radicals having 6 to 12 carbon atoms, ##STR3## polyalkyl glycol ether radicals having the following structure ##STR4## wherein x is an integer from 1 to 7.
