Abstract: A protective cover for a hinge has a band-like cover strip which extends longitudinally relative to the hinge and has one end connected with the hinge barrel and the other end of the cover strip connected with the hinge arm. The cover strip is longitudinally elastic and flexible and covers at least the respective top sides of the hinge barrel and the hinge arm. The cover strip can have a U-shaped cross section.
Abstract: A device for positioning the front panel of a drawer on an end frame of a respective lateral frame rail of a drawer includes a base plate attached to the front panel for mounting the front panel of the front side of the end face. A clamping panel is mounted on the back side of the end face and connected to the base plate by mounting screws. A wedge plate is arranged between the base plate and the front side of the end face for adjusting the inclination of the front panel. The mounting screws are laterally displaceable in holes formed in the end face for lateral adjustment of the front panel and vertically displaceable in the holes formed in the end face for vertical adjustment by means of an eccentric screw connected to the clamping panel having an eccentric pin extending into a slot formed in the end face and bearing on a lateral edge of the slot.
Abstract: A hinge mechanism of the type comprising a base plate securable to a furniture carcass, a mounting plate releasably secured to the base plate by a retaining lever and an adjusting plate adjustably securing a hinge arm or a cover bracket to the mounting plate is provided with a safety insert to prevent accidental release of the mounting plate from the base plate. The insert comprises a block having a projection which extends into a space between the adjusting plate and the mounting plate and a channel which receives an actuating branch of the retaining lever to lock it against movement. The insert is shaped to fit tightly between one surface of the adjusting plate and an outer cylindrical surface of a sleeve spring which biases the lever into its engaging position.
Abstract: A wide angle hinge is used for articulation of a furniture door on a furniture unit with a base plate mounted on the furniture unit and a housing mounted on the furniture door; mounted on the base plate is a first gear rack on which a gear is rolled in the longitudinal direction of the hinge and meshes with a second gear rack connected with the housing. The second gear rack is mounted directly on the housing and has a circular arc shape that is concentric with the swivel axis of the door.
Abstract: A guide system for a drawer comprises a mounting rail attached to a piece of furniture, a drawer rail attached to the drawer and supported and guided by the mounting rail for translational movement relative thereto. The rails are provided with vertically superimposed, longitudinally extending magnetic tracks of the same polarity which repel each other and maintain a magnetic air gap therebetween, so that the magnetic repelling forces are load-bearing and maintain the drawer in a suspended condition. Lateral guide means are provided to maintain the vertical alignment of the superimposed magnetic tracks. The magnetic load-bearing tracks may be formed from permanent magnets or electromagnets.
Abstract: A drawer guiding system comprises a first rail for mounting in a furniture body, a second rail for mounting on a drawer and optionally an intermediate rail between the first and second rails, the rails being connected so as to be reciprocally slidable relative to one another. Pairs of magnetic components associated with respective adjacent rails assist or retard their relative displacement by mutual magnetic attration or repulsion. Each magnetic component is made up of individual magnets with differently aligned polarities, so that some attract corresponding magnets of an associated magnetic component and some repel. As the drawer approaches one end of its travel the overall mutual repulsion between the magnetic components of each pair becomes an attraction or vice-versa.
Abstract: A furniture hinge with a snap-in mechanism for locking the hinge arm connected to a door onto a base plate fastened to the furniture article, the hinge comprising an articulation housing having swivel arms projecting therefrom, the free ends of the swivel arm supporting a cover bracket to which are affixed an adjusting plate and a mounting plate. The base plate has a locked connection with the mounting plate. The front side of the mounting plate has a hook-shaped supporting surface in a nonpositive engagement with a wedge surface of the base plate. A spring mounted rocker is formed on the end of the mounting plate and has backwardly curved locking shoulders with gripping projections that lock on upwardly curved sliding surfaces formed on the base plate.
