Abstract: A plier comprising a first handle member and a second handle member, each of said handle member having a jaw portion, an intermediate portion and a hand grip portion, the second handle member comprises a movable hand grip portion and a movable jaw portion and the first handle member comprises a stationary jaw portion and a stationary hand grip portion with the movable jaw portion and the movable hand grip portion being separate from each other. The moveable jaw portion having a tail pivotally mounted to the intermediate portion of the moveable second handle member. The intermediate portion of the second handle member being pivoted to the intermediate portion of the first handle member. A linkage having one end pivotally attached to the tail and its other end being pivotally attached to the intermediate portion of the first handle member.
Abstract: A plier having a first handle member and a second handle member. The first handle member has a first hand grip portion, a first intermediate potion and a first jaw portion. The second handle member has a second hand grip portion, a second intermediate portion and a second jaw portion. The second jaw portion is movable relative to the first jaw portion and the second hand grip portion is movable relative to the first hand grip portion. The second intermediate portion is pivotally mounted on the first handle member. The second intermediate portion is connected to the second jaw portion so that movement of the second hand grip portion will move the second jaw portion relative to the first jaw portion.
Abstract: A bar clamp having a first jaw assembly, a second jaw assembly and a bar. The first and second jaw assemblies are mounted on the bar which is movable relative to the second jaw assembly. A trigger is operatively associated with the bar and is adapted to be activated to move the bar and the first jaw assembly relative to the second aw assembly in one direction. A release mechanism on the second jaw assembly is operatively associated with the bar and is adapted to be activated in order to permit the bar and the first jaw assembly to move relative to the second jaw assembly in the opposite direction.
Abstract: A tool having a handle assembly, a workpiece assembly extending from the handle assembly. The handle assembly is a flashlight mechanism, the front end of which is transparent so that lighting the flashlight will emit light through the transparent front end. The workpiece assembly has a pickup assembly associated therewith and includes a tube assembly extending from the handle assembly with the pickup assembly removably mounted within the tube assembly. The pickup assembly is extendable beyond the front end of the tube assembly and has a pickup mechanism at its front end.
Abstract: A clamp having a first leg, a second lega and a base connecting the first and second leg together. An anvil on the first leg and an opening in the second leg. A threaded bolt having threads extending through the opening. A striker head at one end of the threaded bolt which is opposite to and faces the anvil. A control box in the second leg communicating with the opening. A control block mounted within the control box. The control block having teeth extending therefrom which face the threads in the threaded bolt. A control mechanism is provided for moving the control block from a position in which its teeth engage and mesh with the threads on the threaded bolt to a position in which its teeth are disengaged from the threads on the threaded bolt.
Abstract: Adjustable pliers having a pair of handles, each handle having ajaw portion, an intermediate portion and a hand-grip portion. The handles intersect each other and are pivotally mounted to each other so that movement of the hand-grip portions in one direction will move the jaw portions in the same direction. A slide extends from one of the intermediate portions and a slot is in the other intermediate portion. The slide extends into the slot and is slidable along the slot. The slide has a jaw portion extending therefrom. A lock assembly is provided on the handle members to lock the two position.
Abstract: A spirit level having a sub-assembly on the body. The sub-assembly has a vial holder having two spaced pockets. A curved vial having two ends received in the pockets and resilient ribs having a curve matched to the vial and engaging the vial to hold the vial in an adjusted position. Each vial can be adjusted relative to a separate vial holder and each vial holder/vial sub-assembly can be independently adjusted and set relative to an appropriate edge of the level. The vial snaps into a fixed receptacle on either side of the vial holder. One side of the holder is curved to match the curve of the vial to insure that the vial is properly positioned. The underside of the vial holder may be relieved to increase flexibility to make it easier to snap the vial into place.
Abstract: Adjustable pliers having a pair of handles, each handle having a jaw portion, an intermediate portion and a hand-grip portion. The handles intersect each other and are pivotally mounted to each other so that movement of the hand-grip portions in one direction will move the jaw portions in the same direction. Holding means in the form of a pin extends from one of the intermediate portions and a slot is in the other intermediate portion. The holding pin extends into the slot and is slidable along the slot. The slot has receiving means in the form of notches which will receive the said holding pin when the jaw portions are placed in a predetermined position and hold them in that position. A locking assembly is also provided on the handle members to lock the two in position.
Abstract: The method and mechanism of making an anti-slip handle having a gripping portion in which a plurality of grooves are formed in the gripping portion of the handle with the first set of grooves formed in one direction and the second set of grooves formed in the other direction so that the two sets of grooves intersect each other to form a cross-hatched groove network. The grooves are preferably formed by laser action.
