  • Patent number: 4907839
Abstract: A walker with a retrofittable foldable sheet has at least one front leg and a plurality of rear legs. Clamps attach to each of the legs and a seat extends over and is supported by the clamps. A guide connects a portion of the seat to at least one of the front legs to allow the seat to be moved from an in-use position to a storage position against the front legs. The seat has a receptacle for each clamp when positioned for use and a receptacle for each front clamp and for the guide when in storage. Clips are used to hold the walker against the front legs of the walker.

  • Patent number: 4872469
Abstract: An improvement to a tubular height adjustable crutch of the type having a foot telescopically slidable within a carrier tube supported between the parallel lower ends of two crutch bows, where the crutch bow ends are right cylinders cut so as to form a right angle corner with the footpiece or carrier tube. A unitary end cap is fitted over the bow ends and the carrier tube for retaining these three members together and to provide an integral bushing for supporting the footpiece against wobbling within the carrier tube. The improvement consists of modifying the cap bottom to provide slanting edges or surfaces for deflecting staircase edges away from possible engagement with the corner defined between the bow ends and the carrier tube, thus preventing consequent injury to the crutch user.

  • Patent number: 4748994
Abstract: A walking aid adapted for use either before or behind the invalid user and comprising a pair of tubular side sections spaced apart and connected by a transverse brace at one pair of opposed ends to form a four legged free standing walker frame. Each side section support and adjustably disposable upwardly extending hand support enable the latter to be best positioned for the user and for the use of the walker in either its fore of after the patient position.

  • Patent number: 4733682
Abstract: A crutch of tubular construction has two crutch bows with straight parallel lower ends, between which is a leg carrier tube held by an upper fastener and lower rivets, and a crutch leg telescoped in the carrier tube. Weak points are avoided by gradually flattening the bows from a cylindrical cross section at the upper fastener through intermediate partially flattened bow portions to fully flattened bow ends at the lower rivets.

  • Patent number: RE32815
Abstract: A height adjustable crutch having a bow comprised of a pair of hollow tubular vertical members which are angled downwardly toward each other with their lower extremities aligned in spaced-apart parallel relationship in their hollow tubular condition. A hollow tubular carrier is disposed between and in abutment with these tubular extremities and the three members are secured, as by bolt through them in the upper area where they are in abutment, and by an integral encircling element at their lower extremities, the encircling element being pinned at externally diametrically opposite points of abutment of such element with the extremities of the tubular members. The tubular carrier is orificed at selective intervals and receives an orificed telescoping foot member provided with at least one radially outwardly spring biased detent. This detent serves to lock the foot member in any disposition relative to the carrier when the detent is passed through any registering orifices of the carrier and foot member.
