  • Patent number: 4774818
Abstract: A device for the determination of the position of leading or trailing draw-down elements which can be shifted to operated in opposite directions in flat-bed knitting machines has a single step motor for shifting the draw-down elements, a position sensor and a switching element movable in relation to each other and cooperating with each other, the switching element indicating a basic position of the two draw-down elements. So that in such a device besides the basis position of the two draw-down elements the shifted position, i.e. which of the two draw-down elements is in the draw-down position, can be machine-internally determined, a second switching element is provided, which is operationally connected with the position sensor, the second switching element and the position sensor being movable in relation to each other and the second switching element being synchronously movable with the first switching element.

  • Patent number: 4720985
Abstract: In the yarn tension regulating device for knitting machines in which the yarn (25) runs through a yarn tension sensor (24) and a yarn brake (20) automatically adjustable in dependence upon the indication of the yarn tension sensor, there is located directly in front of the automatically adjustable yarn brake (20), in the direction of travel of the yarn, a yarn forwarding device, in particular a yarn storage feeder (13), by which the tension imparted to the yarn on its path from the yarn spool to the yarn brake is relieved. Between the yarn brake (20) and the yarn tension sensor (24), which follows it in the direction of movement of the yarn, is located a known yarn take-up (21), whereby the automatically adjustable brake (20) constitutes the yarn brake usually provided for this yarn take-up.

  • Patent number: 4715198
Abstract: A control magnet assembly (10) for a pattern apparatus in knitting machines, for electrically controlled needle selection, has selection magnets (29, 30), which are provided with permanent magnetic retaining pole zones and with control pole zones with which control coils (42, 43; 52, 53) that are triggerable in accordance with the pattern are associated, and against which armature elements (26) operatively connected with the needles (18) can be brought. In a control magnet assembly (10) of this kind, optimal magnetic conditions in the control pole zone are to be provided such that a uniform and reliable throwing off of the appropriate armature elements (26) is always attained. To this end, a measuring head (15, 25) is provided for detecting the magnitude of the magnetic field in the control pole zone, and a circuit layout is provided between the measuring head (15, 25) and the control coil (42, 43, 52, 53).

  • Patent number: 4713948
Abstract: The sinkers of both needle beds of a double bed flat knitting machine are pivotable so as to form a complete bridge over the gap between the needle beds. They have a loop-forming edge which is formed, with respect to the direction of take down for the knitted fabric, underneath the projections of the sinkers, which make up the bridge. Holding down of the old stitches in the gap between the needle beds is therefore ensured and a loop equalizing movement can be effected by means of the sinkers.

  • Patent number: 4679413
Abstract: A flat-bed knitting machine having a spool table disposed above the needle bed and carriage apparatus, in a rear area of the machine, is described. A multiplicity of yarn spool holders, which are movable into a front area above the needle bed and carriage apparatus, and a plurality of yarn supply devices are held on the spool table. To make the individual yarn spools of such a flat knitting machine more accessible, with less effort, even during machine operation, the yarn spool holders are divided into sets of a plurality of holders, and each set of holders is secured on a pull-out rail of a pull-out device. The pull-out rail is movable relative to a guide rail of the pull-out apparatus, and the guide rail is secured on the stationary spool table.
