Abstract: An exemplary image processing system first writes normal line information and color information into the G buffer and depth information into the depth buffer for a first object. Next, at a time of writing the normal line information into the G buffer for a second object, the exemplary image processing system calculates a difference between the depth information of a first object and the depth information of the second object, and blends the normal line information of the first object with the normal line information of the second object based on the difference, and writes the blended normal line information into the G buffer. The exemplary image processing system then renders an image in a frame buffer based on information stored in the G buffer and light source information.

Abstract: A three-dimensional puzzle game apparatus includes an LCD on which a three-dimensional puzzle is displayed. The three-dimensional puzzle includes a plurality of blocks arranged in each of three-dimensional directions in a virtual three-dimensional space. Furthermore, a hint numeral indicating the number of blocks to be left in a block row is displayed as information being a hint for searching a block to be left from the block row, for example. When a deleting instruction is performed on a block by utilizing a touch panel, for example, it is then determined that whether or not the block is a block to be left. When it is determined that the block is not a block to be left, the block is erased. When it is determined that all the remaining blocks are blocks to be left, it is determined that the three-dimensional puzzle is solved.

Abstract: A game device 10 displays an image on an upper LCD 22 capable of producing stereoscopic display using two images. Based on two captured images of a predetermined image-capture object captured respectively by two image-capturing devices, the game device 10 calculates a positional relationship between the predetermined image-capture object and each of the image-capturing devices. Then, the game device 10 determines a zero-parallax distance using at least one of the positional relationships so that it is a distance in accordance with a distance from the image-capturing device to the image-capture object, and determines display positions of the two captured images to be displayed on the upper LCD 22 in accordance with the zero-parallax distance.

Abstract: A real camera image of a real space that is captured by a real camera is obtained. Color information about a plurality of sampling points in the real camera image is obtained. Next, an average color is calculated based on the obtained color information about the plurality of sampling points. Based on the calculated average color, parameters relating to the color and brightness of a light source set in a virtual space are set. A virtual object image is generated by capturing, with a virtual camera, an image of a virtual object existing in the virtual space, which virtual object is illuminated by the light source whose parameters have been set. Then, a superimposed image, in which the virtual object image is superimposed on the real camera image, is generated and displayed on a display device.
