  • Publication number: 20080087035
Abstract: A condensed water drain structure includes an air conditioning case having an evaporator and a drain for draining condensed water from inside the air case to the exterior of a vehicle body. A drain cap mounted on the drain has a head with a hole for draining condensed water. The hole is shaped as a slot having a height difference toward the air conditioning case in an axial direction of the head. The condensed water is smoothly drained even though there is a narrow space between a plate in the case and structure external to the case, to prevent vehicle exhaust gas or smoke from entering of the vehicle body.

  • Patent number: 7214911
Abstract: A car defogging system reduces energy required to defog a windshield glass of the car. A temperature sensor mounted at the windshield glass detects the glass surface temperature, Ts. A humidity sensor spaced from the windshield glass by a predetermined distance detects the humidity, H, around the windshield glass. A temperature sensor mounted inside the windshield glass detects peripheral temperature Te around the glass. A system controller determines if fog is or is not present by comparing the dew point temperature Td with the surface temperature Ts. Dew point temperature Td is derived by the combining values of H and a temperature Tc based on a combination of Ts and Te.

  • Publication number: 20060283586
Abstract: Provided is an air conditioner for a vehicle, including a blower unit that blows air, an air conditioning case including an evaporator and a heater core, which are sequentially disposed in an airflow path, and an air inlet path that allows air to flow to an evaporator from the blower unit, wherein the airflow path includes a first path that allows air entered from the air inlet path to flow to a lower part of the evaporator and second and third paths that allow the air to flow to the lower part of the evaporator after passing through both sides of the evaporator. The air conditioner increases an amount of airflow and reduces airflow resistance since airflow paths are formed on both sides of the evaporator in addition to a direction perpendicular to the separator. Consequently, the airflow entering a lower part of the evaporator can be uniformly distributed.
