  • Patent number: 10775165
Abstract: Methods to improve the accuracy of non-contact measurements of an object's dimensions using a dimensioning system are disclosed. The methods include a method for creating a mathematical model (i.e., error model) based on an observed correlation between errors in an estimated dimension and the characteristics of the measurement used to obtain the estimated dimension. These error models may be created for various dimensions and stored for future use. The methods also include a method for using the stored error models to reduce the error associated with a particular dimensioning-system measurement. Here an error model is used to create an estimated error. The estimated error is then removed from the estimate of the dimension to produce a final estimate of the dimension that is more accurate.

  • Patent number: 10756900
Abstract: A method to validate delivery of a document using a non-repudiation protocol and a time-based one time password (TOTP) for encryption is described. The method includes a one-time registration of an application with a trusted third party, wherein the trusted third party provides a seed to a first device of a first user. The first user receives and accepts a document from a second user. The first device generates the TOTP based on the seed. Using the TOTP as an encryption key, the first device computes a current hash. The delivery of the document can be validated by a second device of a second user based on a comparison of the current clock time and GPS coordinates (optional) of first device as compared to the associated values of the second device. The second device stores the document, first device's computed hash, and current clock time.

  • Patent number: 10749300
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for a soft power start solution based on a two pin connector for a device such as a mobile terminal. When a charging pad of the device is first docked to a charging cradle, the charging pad of the device is connected to a plunger in a ground pin, but power is not applied at that moment. In a separate step, the plunger is shorted to a spring flat that allows power to be applied to the charging pad. Similar steps occur during de-docketing. With this method, contact interface burn caused by electrical arcing when docking or de-docking a mobile terminal from a charging cradle may be minimized.

  • Patent number: 10747975
Abstract: A method is provided for controlling a device for reading machine-readable code. A processor, configured by a strike application program monitors for a strike against a surface of the device. The strike is caused by a user either striking the device against a non-device surface or striking the surface of the device without necessarily engaging a button, a capacitive surface, or a resistive surface of the device. The strike comprising a detected strike is detected. An identifying characteristic of the detected strike is determined and it is determined if the detected strike having the identifying characteristic correlates to a particular scan-related operation of the device. The particular scan-related operation correlating to the detected strike having the identifying characteristic is executed in response to determining that the detected strike having the identifying characteristic correlates to a particular scan-related operation.

  • Patent number: 10747227
Abstract: A system is described for presenting information relating to lifting and moving a load object with a vehicle. Upon the lifting, a dimensioner determines a size and a shape of the load object, computes a corresponding spatial representation, and generates a corresponding video signal. During the moving, an imager observes a scene in front of the vehicle, relative to its forward motion direction, and generates a video signal corresponding to the observed scene. The imager has at least one element moveable vertically, relative to the lifting. A display renders a real time visual representation of the scene observed in front of the vehicle based on the corresponding video signal and superimposes a representation of the computed spatial representation of the load object.

  • Patent number: 10750063
Abstract: Provided herein is an image focusing adjustment method, system, and module. A first image of a reference object is received in response to an input signal when the image focusing adjustment module is operating in a first state. The first image of the reference object is analyzed, based on which a plurality of adjustments to the image focusing adjustment module is controlled. The plurality of adjustments, performed by a plurality of actuators controlled by control module, include rotating a lens barrel assembly relative to a neck member along a first axis that causes a translational adjustment of the lens barrel assembly, rotating the neck member relative to a top member around the first axis that causes a rotational adjustment of the lens barrel assembly, and positioning a tilt adjustment member that causes tilt adjustment of the top member relative to a frame member along a second axis.

  • Patent number: 10740663
Abstract: Printing symbols on media is described. Sequential parts of a symbol are marked onto each of multiple corresponding sequential segments of the medium. A characteristic of each of the sequential symbol parts is evaluated. A speed is monitored with which the medium is moved upon the marking of each of the sequential symbol parts onto each of the corresponding sequential segments of the medium. An image, captured in relation to the evaluation, is adjusted based on the monitored speed. Adjusting the captured image may include setting a rate at which the evaluation of the characteristic of each of the sequential symbol parts is performed based on the monitored speed or alternatively, predicting a distortion in the evaluated characteristic of each of the sequential symbol parts corresponding to the monitored speed, and applying a change to the captured image corresponding to, and ameliorating the predicted distortion.
