  • Patent number: 6152394
Abstract: A sound-absorbing material and a cable reel including the same are produced inexpensively and attenuates sliding noise and vibration noise. A sound-absorbing material 20 comprises a foam rubber 20a and a thin synthetic paper 20b having a smooth surface and laminated through an adhesive 20c on a top surface of the foam rubber 20a. The synthetic paper 20b can be easily attached to the foam rubber 20a by means of the adhesive 20c and is inexpensive in comparison with a conventional polytetrafluoroethylene resin sheet. The sound-absorbing material 20 is attached to a lower bearing surface 12a of a cable containing chamber 12 in a cable reel. The synthetic paper 20b of the sound-absorbing material 20 can attenuate a sliding noise which is generated when a flat cable 15 slides on the lower bearing surface 12a.

  • Patent number: 6147586
Abstract: An insulation plate (20) is provided with a window or a slot (21). A fusible element or circuit (31) is laid on a surface of the insulation plate (20) across the window (21). When the circuit (31) is heated by current-conduction, a fusible path (33) of the circuit (31) spanned in air across the window (21) melts at a predetermined current level, since heat generated in the fusible path (31) is not absorbed in the insulation plate (20). It is possible to transform the plate fuse depending on the conditions of use, and its configuration is substantially flexible.

  • Patent number: 6140597
Abstract: A breaker device having tension coil springs that, while moving together with a moving electrode, are extended and contracted, and the resilient restoring force of these springs becomes maximum halfway along a path of movement thereof. When the moving electrode is disposed on the connection side of this maximum position, the tension coil springs urge the moving electrode in a connecting direction. When the moving electrode is disposed on the disconnection side, the tension coil springs urge the moving electrode in a disconnecting direction. When the moving electrode is in a properly-connected condition or a completely-disconnected condition, the urging force of the tension coil springs is decreased. A lock for holding the moving electrode in either the connected condition or the disconnected condition may also be provided.

  • Patent number: 6065707
Abstract: A cable reel includes a sound-absorbing material which can effectively attenuate both sliding noise and vibration noise and can be produced inexpensively. The cable reel comprises a stationary member assembly and a movable member assembly rotatably mounted on the stationary member assembly. The stationary and movable member assemblies define a cable containing chamber having an annular configuration and upper and lower bearing surfaces. The cable containing chamber accommodates a flat cable in a coiled manner between the upper and lower bearing surfaces. Opposite ends of the flat cable are led out from the stationary and movable member assemblies through electrical means. The sound-absorbing material is made of a foam material and includes at least three straps. The straps extend radially and are equally spaced apart from each other in a circumferential direction on at least the lower bearing surface of the cable containing chamber so that the flat cable slides on the straps of the sound-absorbing material.

  • Patent number: 6021566
Abstract: Both ends of a plurality of parallel electrical wires are respectively connected to the connectors with pressure by a pressure-connecting and wiring machine into which the plurality of electrical wires are introduced, and the thus introduced electrical wires are sent to the electrical wire pressure-connecting section via the electrical wire cutting section. At this time, the connectors are successively fed to the electrical wire pressure-connecting section of the pressure-connecting and wiring machine in the direction parallel with the arrangement of the pressure terminals. After the electrical wires have been connected to the connector with pressure, the pressure-connected electrical wires of a predetermined length are drawn out from the pressure-connecting and wiring machine. Then the pressure-connecting and wiring machine is turned round the vertical axis by an angle of 180.degree., and the electrical wires, which have been drawn out before, are connected to the other connector with pressure and cut.

  • Patent number: 6011399
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting a trouble location in a wire harness can easily detect a location of any trouble such as breakage or short circuit in electric wires in a wire harness and in particular can detect the trouble location by way of a simple structure utilizing a portion with a shield function. In the detecting apparatus, a pulse signal is transmitted in electric wires (2) in a wire harness (1), in which a trouble location is to be detected, and in a sensing line juxtaposed along the electric wires (2) at their ends. A measuring device (20) receives a reflected wave from a transmitted wave and measures a difference in time between the transmitted wave and the reflected wave. A distance from a transmitting end point to a trouble location point is determined in accordance with the difference in time and a signal propagation velocity. Each electric wire (2) in the wire harness (1) is a single wire having no splice portion and a shielded wire having a conductive shield sheath (10).

  • Patent number: 6011518
Abstract: In the vehicle antenna, a GPS antenna, a radio wave beacon antenna for VICS/automatic rate, and an optical beacon antenna are incorporated into between the mirror of a room mirror and a cover and they are united together into an integrated body. The vehicle antenna is structured such that it is allowed to transmit and receive signals with respect to a GPS, a VICS/automatic rate beacon, and an optical beacon through the windshield of a vehicle. This structure eliminates the need to install the respective antennas of the vehicle antenna onto a vehicle body and an instrumental panel, thereby being able to improve the appearance of the interior of the vehicle. Also, since the vehicle antenna is incorporated in the room mirror, the vehicle antenna is not visible directly to the eyes of a driver and is kept from reflecting its shade into the windshield to thereby prevent interference with the driving operation of the driver.

  • Patent number: 6011416
Abstract: A microcomputer 4 responds to an instruction signal to turn the load L on or off to control the FET 2 through the drive circuit 5. The microcomputer 4 samples an electric current I.sub.L which is supplied through the A/D converter 6 and which flows in the load L at every predetermined sampling time T.sub.S and subjects the sampled electric current I.sub.L to a comparison with a known rated current value I.sub.R for the load L. When I.sub.L .gtoreq.I.sub.R is satisfied, the microcomputer 4 starts counting energizing time T. When the accumulated value of I.sub.L .times.T.sub.S is enlarged to a predetermined value S.sub.O, the microcomputer 4 turns the FET 2 off. When the detected electric current I.sub.L is larger than an upper limit I.sub.O (>I.sub.R) determined previously, the microcomputer 4 immediately turns the FET 2 off through the drive circuit 5.

  • Patent number: 5999296
Abstract: In an optical head for optical beacon, a prism 5 is arranged immediately after light emitting elements 1 of an optical head 10 in light radiating directions of the light emitting elements 1, so that the paths along which light rays travel immediately after the radiation can be curved by the prism 5. As a result of this configuration, if the index of refraction of a material of which the prism 5 is made and the angle of a slope of the prism 5 are set to proper values, the light rays can be injected from the prism 5 to an optical head 10 on the side of a light receiving element 2 in arbitrary directions. Further, a surface 21 of a body 13 in which a transmission window 14 is formed is so shaped as to be inclined backward with respect to the travelling direction of an automobile from an upper edge a to a lower edge b.
