Publication number: 20130210247Abstract: To compensate the lateral offset of an opposing plug, a contact element for a plug-in connector socket has particularly large tolerances. For this purpose, the contact element is embodied in two pieces, a contact spring element for making electrical contact with the opposing plug and a securing element in which the contact spring element is mounted so as to be rotatable about a rotational axis. In contrast to a case in which tolerances depend on deformation of a spring element, by virtue of rotation of the contact spring element no forces act on the soldering points with which the securing element is soldered to a printed circuit board. The contact element is particularly suitable for soldering according to SMT.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 3, 2010Publication date: August 15, 2013Applicant: HARTING ELECTRONIC GMBHInventors: Yingtao Wang, Junmin Guo

Patent number: 8408810Abstract: In order to realize an exact contacting of optical waveguides in connectors, the invention proposes a connector for optical waveguides, particularly for being mated and contacted with a mating connector that is equipped with an optoelectric receiver, wherein two optical waveguides are respectively arranged within a ferrule housing in a spring-loaded fashion in individual ferrules and can be axially displaced independently of one another. The ferrule housings are also arranged in a sliding housing that is arranged within a surrounding connector housing such that it can be axially displaced by a certain supplementary travel, namely also in a spring-loaded fashion. This makes it possible to reliably compensate manufacturing-related dimensional tolerances between the ferrule housings and the optoelectric receivers in a mating connector or another adapter.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 2010Date of Patent: April 2, 2013Assignee: Harting Electronics GmbHInventors: Rita Hoffmann, Uwe Foss
